People who are finding their name in the directory, How common would you say your name is?
i found my name in the directory, however I do have a pretty common name lol!
@ashleymp Nice! I was gonna fly solo but I think a family member’s coming with me now There’s too much stuff I want to see and do and not enough time in the day though!
At Cal Day, freshman admits get a “VIP Class of 2023” pass that allows them private tours, $5 brunch, priority seating and access to certain events, priority admission to the Campanile, an exclusive resource fair…
Why you gotta do the transfers like that tho?
For those of you that are finding yourselves in the directory, post the first few digits of your UID. Previous threads have indicated that the UID may be a tell.
I’ll go first—mine is 165XXXX (seven digits). This doesn’t match my number in MAP (64XXXXX).
How are you guys seeing your names? What are you guys looking on?
It’s irrelevant. I don’t know why everyone here is pointing to that directory. I do not think they understand that their name is not rare, and it is most likely someone else.
@bruins8clap I agree.
Let’s all just be patient and wait a few more days to find out.
@bruins8clap @ashleymp Interestingly, the average gpa of undergrads who graduate from haas is 3.56. That’s relatively high so I think we can definitely receive honors if we stay on top of our work.
@americajm Alot of people’s last names is my first name lol. There’s only one guy who has the same last name as me at UC Berkeley. Yay! Im almost unique! lol
@willowstil Because the transfers have not been admitted yet, while high schools seniors have
At this point everyone is just overthinking. Everyone put in the work. Trust the process and wait for actual admission date. Having your name in the directory doesn’t mean anything especially since you haven’t been accepted into the school. Everything happens for a reason and everyone will end up somewhere.
@neilsola I’m aware. It’s just silly that they’re having Cal day before transfer decisions come out, vs having it on April 20th or something. UCLA has one Bruin day in April for freshman, and another in May for transfers, whereas there is only one Cal day, which kind of shafts the transfers imo. It would be nice if Berkeley showed the same appreciation for transfers admits as they do for freshman admits, at least in this situation. Idk if I will get in, but I think any transfers who do get in should feel like they are VIPs too
It may mean something, my daughter applied and her name is NOT in the directory… So maybe if your name is there, just maybe, it means something??
It really doesn’t make sense for anyone’s name to be there, unless it is someone else’s who actually attends the school. No transfers have received their decisions nor enrolled.
@stressexpress I hope you are right. We just have to wait and see.
i talked to a berkeley rep today and she said berkeley will have a cal day type thing for transfers in may
@solostrn I hope so! It is odd that they haven’t released any information about that though… UCLA has their transfer Bruin day set for May 11th, UCSD has their transfer Triton day also set for May 11th, UCSB has three transfer Gaucho Fridays, etc. You would think Berkeley would at least have a date set so that people could tentatively plan long distance trips, book hotels, etc.
They have a date for the admitted transfers Chancellor’s Reception on May 6th, which is like 2 hours long and then a resource fair, maybe that’s what the rep was referring to? I hope not lol. But idk why they wouldn’t also release a date for the transfer Cal Day if there were to be one.
I saw the date somewhere. I’m thinking Transfer Day is May 7. That’s what’s in my head. I can’t remember where I saw it.
I stand corrected. It’s Saturday, May 4.
