UC Berkeley Haas 2018 Transfer Thread

@YRNYRN but isn’t managing an import export business enough? This takes a lot of time on my schedule till the evening and I also have to go to different cities in California to host exhibitions. Is it really important for me to start a club with my credentials. I’ll have most of my pre requirements completed by fall semester I’ll just have calc 2 to complete in the spring. I’m taking 12 units in the summer and 24 units in the fall. This is also the busiest time for my business so I’ll basically be working overtime in regards to my studies since I’ll continually spend half of my day working on my company. In case you’re wondering how I can do all that since I also have to attend lectures well most of my classes are online and some that aren’t I’ll be taking on saturdays.

@GoodAfternoonSir you said wanted to strengthen your application. If you don’t see it as being something you can commit to because of time constraints then stay stagnant. Your profile is strong but you can always improve

Is volunteer work a great idea to significantly strengthen my application. I want to show my universities that I’m well rounded and can handle demandful situations when necessary. I could squeeze in volunteer work but I probably won’t be able to do internships because of time constraints.

Admissions are up guys… I was admitted. I am so humbled. I will recap and provide updates at a future time… best of luck to everyone else.

@hopesolo congratulations! Its must be awesome to feel like all that work finally paid off! Can you post your stats if possible?

Hello! New to this thread but I wanted to congratulate all of the accepted applicants! Even if you didn’t get accepted, just know that bigger and better things are coming for you (I have ZERO doubt about that).

I promised myself I’d make an account if I got accepted to help future applicants… so here I am

APPLIED: USC, UCI, UCLA, UCB
ACCEPTED: UCI, UCB
DENIED: UCLA
WAITING: USC

I was thinking about posting my stats but I remember that reading other people’s stats while I was applying just stressed me out even more so I’ll just write about application tips!

Tip #1: Talk to a counselor during the semester BEFORE you will apply to Berkeley and ask them if the classes that you have taken, are taking, and will take will be accepted by Haas. You do not want to get rejected for missing one class.

Tip #2: Keep your academics strong and get involved in things that you are interested in! I was never a part of business clubs, I was just part of things that I liked (like Student Government)… so do things you like and care about!

Tip #3: Even if you’re an amazing writer, do not leave your essays till the last minute. Start brainstorming, throw away some drafts, get them reviewed, and hopefully you’ll end up loving the finished product!

Tip #4: Try to incorporate the Four Defining Principles to your essays.

Tip #5: Be confident in yourself. That sounds cheesy but if you’re unsure if you will get in, just take a leap of faith!

Lastly, I just want to say that wherever we are accepted or rejected the school that we go to should not define us. No one is better for going to one place or the other and I wish EVERYONE (whether you were accepted or rejected) the best of luck!

@haasiebear can you post your stats now?

did you also complete all USC pre reqs for marshall? Is it okay to not do the biopics @HaasieBear
