Yes it is a stressful time for everyone but if there were a delay it is important to keep students in the loop. I am sure everyone here would understand a delay during the current situation but to keep applicants blind does not seem like the right choice here
well said.
Every time I log in I see
āThank you for applying to UCI!ā Me: oh am I rejected
āWhatās next?ā
Me: nvm
Been like this for a week if anyone is willing to share some patience with me I think we need to ration some
@hoshizora WHY IS THIS ME I AM LAUGHING SO HARD ITS SAD LOL
i get a mini heart attack then get sad x)
i feel it in my bones that tomorrow is the dayā¦ i so hope we all get good news ;-;
I feel once I get the email Iām gonna be too nervous to open it lmao, like damn Iāve waited this longā¦but now Iām scared XD
Iāve heard the email doesnt come until a few days after your portal gets updated but im not sure.
Oh okay! Thatās interesting if it does work that way too for UCI. Ik when I got my UCSC acceptance my email came a couple hours later!
Your update on the portal comes first then the email comes after. Idk about days but I got my email 2 hours after I had gotten my portal updated. I want to say about 99% of the students that find out is because they keep constantly check their portal
I guess the way Iām looking at it isā¦Is there really a delay? Isnāt it still early April? Did they make a definite statement that decisions will be released the first week of April or are we all assuming they would be based on past decisions?
@fulloffaithh i have strong tomorrow vibes too
When they posted the āimportant announcementā on instagram saying decisions will be released āin the month of Aprilā, did they mean theyāre not following the previously announced timeline anymore? The one from this website? https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/campus-admission-notificcation-deadlines-2020.pdf
Like they no longer promise early April decision for TAG, just any time in April?
I really hope they didnāt mean that. So tired of waiting!
I can definitely relate to the cabin fever thing though. I live on the bottom floor and I have a cat that sits in the window. Neighbors keep coming over to ātalkā to her. Then they started bringing what presumably are other neighbors. I put a sign in the window that basically says, thanks for visiting but remember social distancing. They keep coming over with a gang of different people and Iām about ready to wallpaper the window so my cat has to use a higher window.
Being that itās only the 6th of April, I assumed itās still early April. I would consider this entire week is still early April. Next week, not so much. Weāre in mid April by then.
Is there a reason why people believe itāll come out tmrw? If it came out last year April 2nd, thatās a wednesday isnt it?
@maraccge There isnāt really a delay tbh, so long as TAG applicants know by the end of this week. Because after the 12th itās not really considered early April anymore. I think honestly weāre just brimming with anticipation. And for me, being cooped up isnāt helping because I canāt really distract myself from the wait except with homework and Overwatch. But Iām distracted from my homework and games because Iām waiting to find out if I got in xD
And, personally, Iām pretty bummed about school being online and being stuck inside. I could really use a morale booster.
April 2nd last year was a Tuesday, so I think we are just assuming itāll be on a Tuesday because that at least has been pretty consistent with UCI
last year april 2nd was a tuesday. In the previous year (2018), first wave admissions for TAG were also released on a tuesday, which is why a lot of people are guessing tomorrow will be the day
I just keep thinking why even bother making that insta post lol, donāt we already know decisions will be posted in April
@tinymango Iām with you there. Iām not thrilled about school being online. I need a little structure and Iām also distracted by the anticipation. I TAGād UCI too. It would be nice if we got decisions earlier. I was pleasantly surprised when I got accepted to Santa Cruz because I assumed all decisions might be a little late given the present situation.
@maraccge Same here! Iām thankful they were early, kind of makes me feel a little better knowing I got into at least one UC so far.
And if you donāt mind me asking, what major did you TAG for? I tagged as a psychological science major.
