Your alternate is only considered if you are TAP certified.

dvrjosh: So you're a veteran? What branch? I hear if you're a Marine you're guaranteed admission........otherwise, good luck. haha jk.....you have great stats and ec's, very good shot at Cal. I think the missing pre-reqs is what hurt you at UCLA.

A classmate's stats.. hopefully he doesn't go on here and had already posted them:

Rejected on 4/23
UCLA
4.0
Biz Econ
No TAP
Missing 1 prereq (Calc II)

wishfulone- OUCH.

If I had a 4.0 I'd be twice as freaked out.

fijeeboi: lol, I'm a Navy vet. At the least, it made the personal experience essay a lot more interesting.

Woman.of.Troy: Thanks loads, I feel much better knowing that. I guess those 2 prereqs really matter to UCLA. My education plan is geared for Cal, all the prereqs for there are done. I know Haas is crazy competitive but I just can't imagine they wouldn't accept me.

"Your alternate is only considered if you are TAP certified."

Is that really true, Woman.of.Troy?

I'm not TAP certified, so if this is true, then I feel less regretful that I didn't put an alternate major down.

At least the Navy teaches entitlement!

Logos: You're seriously going to attack me for being overwhelmed by how competitve it is? I don't think I'm the only one who's worked so hard that a rejection would cause disbelief.

If you were in my shoes and saw my application, you might come to the conclusion that the accepted applicants were cancer survivors who founded businesses. This is in regard to Cal where my prereqs are done.

People that reviewed my application, including current Cal students, said the same. This is a discussion site, attacking people you don't know only makes you look foolish.

Normally I would agree, but Haas admits ARE cancer survivors that founded business [/joke]

Those of you who got rejected and mention that you were missing pre reqs, is it because your CC didn't offer it, or is it because you guys wouldn't be able to complete it by the spring before transfer or is currently completing it them. I'm a bit confused when you guys say "you're missing pre reqs"

missing prereqs means either your school doesn't over them or you can't finish them prior to transfer. If your school doesn't offer pre-reqs universities will take that under consideration.

Rejected

GPA 3.92
Major: Economics
Completed all prereq
International student studying in cc. (is it one of the reason i got rejected?)

Rejected

GPA 3.4
Major: Biz Econ
Pre Reqs: Incomplete
TAP: not offered at CC

dumb for even applying with such bad stats and the most competitive major, but I figured why not when my parents told me they would pay all my app fees no matter how much.

Wow 4.0 Biz/Econ @ UCLA rejected.

Wonder what it's gonna feel like for UCB Haas and Engineering.

I got accepted as Biz/Econ major, but in my contract, they state that I have to have GPA 3.75 or above and no C's in the current semester.....which means if I have 1 C or 2 B's, they have the right to reject me..... damn! I am worried about my English 2 class...I know nothing about biblical suffs and American history....I think I will get a B on that class. Hopefully, nothing else.....OMG....

Wow, Hongda. I believe in you, you can do it! :) CONGRATS!!! by the way, lol.

Thank you WOT. right now I quit my tutor job and all the activities.....I have to keep my GPA......so much pressure....I hate that...

Pre-congrats you for getting in USC!!!

don't jinx i!!t lol, but thanks! Let me know when you get into Marshall ;) ! p.s. I'm appealing UCLA bc I have nowhere to go as of now, and that freaks me out a bit, oy!

you should appeal. If I can get in, you can too! I think they made a mistake or something.

We'll see >_______< But yep, I got over myself and going to appeal, lol.
