UCLA Rejects Here!

Tomorrow might be for freshmen

wow this year is pretty weird in terms of decisions. There are so many of you who are qualified if not overqualified for a spot at ucla. I just cannot believe ucla rejected you.

You guys they are cutting down because of budget restraints. You can thank our governator

i think you all shoul appeal because you guys have amazingzor stats. in my opinion.

Who here is thinking of appealing already?

I might appeal, depending if I don't get into Cal.

If anyone who got rejected from UCLA gets into Cal (and you dont care about going to UCLA) you should mail them a copy of your acceptance at Cal, and 1 paragrah where you explain to the appeals committee how idiotic their admission committee is as the "new and compelling information" lol

I wonder if they would actually respond lol...

(yes if a miracle happens and i get accepted at cal, i swear i will do this)

I may also appeal if I don't get into Cal... but I will certainly appeal Cal if I don't get in because all my *&$&&&#(%) pre-reqs will be done.

I have a sneaking suspicion UCLA didn't count my IB exam credit when calculating the total # of units I have. Without the IB credit, I have 85 qtr units; with it, I have 93. I know UCSB and UCD didn't count it and I had to explain it to them

Email sent...gosh, does that mean I'm not ready to give up on UCLA?

i'm appealing for sure
finished my letter already
just need 2 letters of rec

how long do you guys think the letter should be btw?
i wrote a page

I found out why I was rejected today. I was told by the admissions adviser at UCLA that the o-chem pre-req was mandatory.

Unfortunately, UCB instructed me to take o-chem at UCB, rather than at my CSU. I found this on one of UCB's Pre-med pages,

"Pre-med prerequisites can be taken at the community college (many students do this). It is strongly recommend[ed] that the Science prerequisites be taken at UCB for a grade of B- or better."

Plus, I would have been way over the 120 unit cap if I would have completed o-chem.

When I called to find info out about my rejection the girl
I spoke with asked if I could call back on Monday because her
supervisor wanted to talk to me....

sigh

Did she give any reason as to why the supervisor wanted to speak with you?

As for appealing. I was going to but I think I'll wait until Berkeley decisions come out. If I don't get into Berkeley I'm going to appeal regardless of their reason and I guess my LA letter can get a free ride. If I do get into Berkeley - highly unlikely unless God puts his holy hands on my application - goats could dump on UCLA for all I care.

PooperScooper,itchy23 can you give me the phone # to talk to UCLA admission advisors thank you.

1-310-825-3101 You will then need to press 1, then 2, then 2 again, and wait for the message to repeat twice. Representatives are available between 1 and 4 M-F.

PooperScooper:

Can we ask the reason why UCLA rejection with that number?

Yes, an adviser will be able to pull up your file and give you a reason for your rejection.

Didn't the appeal letter have to be out by today?
I sent mine earlier and it was two pages.

transfer student deadline is may 23rd

I'm going to post my stats. Can you guys let me know your opinion? I think that UCLA and Cal either must collude in transfer admission decisions or UCLA ignores your backup major.

Business admin (Cal) Business econ / econ (UCLA)

GPA 4.0

regents invite (awarded for UC Irvine)
veteran

honor society treasurer, vp of fundraising with loads of honor society community involvement (president now, that only made it to Cal's supplemntal)

business club, sustainability coalition

prereqs for cal and second ucla major done missing 2 for business econ at ucla

Essays reviewed and consideed strong by brother at Cal (English major)

I felt confident that I could take the UCLA rejection as an odd but good indication for Cal but my confidence is dropping as the April 30th date nears.

I'm going crazy
