Ah, well, looks like it really is OOS applicants getting off the list today.
If that article holds true and aligns w/the rest of the OOS acceptances, I’ll be pretty upset. I don’t want to be nicely rejected from UCLA simply because I don’t pay as much…?
Well, regardless, happy for you @janu and the rest of the accepted students. Hopefully good news will turn up for us in-state kids sometimes soon.

Anyone get off the wait list for engineering/CS?
Haven’t gotten off yet for any waitlist (this/Vandy/MIT) and all engineering… some of my friends have gotten off for Arts & Science though!

I feel like the only kids that have a chance are the OOS kids :’(
Someone should call the admissions office Monday to ask if this is true.
I mean… I don’t think they will tell us if it’s true or not. They can’t directly say “yes we took the OOS applicants because they will pay more.”
True, but worth a try! Really don’t want to be dwelling on the idea if it’s only OOS people. 
@sudibaz Haha, don’t want to mention it outright for privacy reasons, but let’s just say it’s top 25 and has a better engineering program than UCLA’s, so I’m not too bummed. But I really would like to stay in-state and save my parents the money.
It’s only the first day guys! No need to jump to conclusions. LA is just being a tease playing hard to get
