<p>im asking this out of curiosity; how many admitted students from your guys’ schools are attending? <10 (more or less) are attending from mine.</p>

<p>@uvminhcire LOL that’s good for us. Hopefully fewer people go from other schools so we have a chance of being admitted. I will be going to UCI if i don’t get off the wait list.</p>

<p>I sent UCSD an email asking if they would be taking from the wait list this year. This is the response I got. “Please do not rely on the wait-list for admission to UCSD. We ask that you seriously consider all other offers of admission.”.
Don’t know if that’s just what they’re required to say or if its looking bleak for us…</p>
<p>Only 2 students from my hs are going to ucsd, I’ve been checking my email regularly and I’m going crazy because I haven’t heard back. Does anyone know if they met their yield?</p>

I’m having anxiety attacks just thinking about it. I really can’t tell if they’ve met their yield because I called to ask and they told me no one last year or the year before that was accepted from the wait list, but I know people who were and are currently attending. </p>

<p>@xingxing13 That’s what a very good friend of mine who currently attends UCSD said. He told me a bunch of his friends got in from the waitlist and not to trust what we’re being told. On top of that I was reading through a bunch of comments from Ms. Sun’s blog and she said how she heard back from some students who were indeed accepted off the waitlist. </p>

I’m just worried because I submitted my SIR to Irvine and I’m kind of eh about going there so I’m half assing whatever they’re requiring us to do rn. On top of that I’m not even looking for a roommate b/c I’m depending on this waitlist to pull through. Where have you committed to go??</p>
<p>@xingxing13 Haha! I’ve also submitted my SIR to UCI! I’m in exactly the same boat as you, I don’t really want to go to UCI and I definitely haven’t even tried to look for a roommate either. But that email I got from the UCSD admission representative scared me so much. I don’t know what to think anymore. Plus I know a ton of kids who got into UCSD but are choosing to go to UCLA or UCB, so I hope that bodes well for us. </p>

I haven’t visited Irvine yet but I don’t feel its quite right my kind of atmosphere judging from the fb page. idk people have told me I’ll change my mind once I visit Irvine but I’m so obsessed with the idea of going to ucsd & becoming a triton sdjskdjsjsd. Tell me how everything goes

<p>@agreatperhaps13 Nope, this is for the past two years. UCSD representatives have said that they accepted no one from their waitlist but my friend refuted that information. </p>
<p>It’s better to pay attention to what the admissions staff doesn’t say. They did not say they are not taking kids from the waitlist this year. Their number crunchers are walking a fine line trying to manage final body counts with this years questionable yield rates due to the vast number of students applying to schools they have little intention of going to. But SIR time has past and that should become clearer today. That being said, what students have been hearing about waitlisted applicants getting in last year might be confusing <em>transfer applicants</em> with freshman. Good luck to everyone who has their heart set on UCSD. </p>
<p>Apparently a few waitlisted students have been admitted! My friend at UCSD right now said his roommate’s brother got in from the waitlist as did a few of his friends. Cross your fingers!</p>
