wow garnet&gold you're an absolute idiot. keep living in the past. everybody knows that the only reason people go to fsu is because they don't get into uf.

are you ing kidding me fsu still has the second most winingest coach in the ncaa while Uf us still the most drunk school in America and what the * is up with jaws as your fight song I mean what the ***

Representing FSU well with the vulgarity and the lack of a well founded point

also were still ranked in the top 20 if you get that far your good

its a pure fact that FSU is better than UF by far and has a power house football team waiting to explode

Lol you guys better get used to "waiting" then...nvm you're already used to it

The only reason i posted that huge paragraph is because there are so many arrogant gators out there that think they are better than fsu. But don't get me wrong we can get aggressive as well and a few pages back we almost made up. But all it took was one more person to start it up again but every gator that knows anything about these schools knows that Fsu was good and every nole knows that the gators are having there good years were both going to have turns being better than the other and Im pretty sure were going to be fighting about this till a nuke from russia incinerates us both off the map but can't we admit to each other that were both really good schools lets try to be a little more mature about this

please don't think im stupid for posting this

Garnet, you're making yourself sound like a total moron. Just stop posting.

Wow, people like G&G make me not want to go to FSU.

Get into UF and you won't have to. That's how it goes...(with half-hearted apologies to the exceptions)

Wow, Garnet, you're a joke.

Just fyi, I also applied to FSU, got into the Honors College along with the University Scholarship and am strongly considering going there even if I get accepted into UF. I honestly hope FSU isn't infested with idiots like yourself.

Lol invictus8, I was in the same position as you are exactly a year ago. Congratulations for having such great options. If you do, in fact, decide on FSU, I hope you don't have to bother with people like the real man over there. In my case, the $9,600 just wasn't enough to keep me from this city/university. I'm not sure $19,200 would have been enough for that matter.

Man, this thread has gotten pretty nasty. I'll try to keep my opinion clean...

UF: Really good school and well respected. It's also getting harder to get into by the semester. It is an all-around better school (academically) than FSU (with the exception of a few programs).

FSU: Really good school that is also getting harder and harder to get into. Arguably the second best school in the state. However, def. not as good of a school (academically) as UF.

All of the rest is simply subjective. If you like one of the campuses better than the other, then go to the one you like. If you like the dorms, city, people, bathrooms, school colors, or whatever, then go to that one. It's all a matter of which one you like better. I hope we can all agree that UF is a better academic school overall, but there's no way you can say it is the "better" school, and the same goes for FSU. Because the word "better" takes into account everything about the school.... some of which can't be clearly listed in a ranking. For instance, whichever one you think has a nicer campus is COMPLETELY subjective, and so is the idea that one school is better than the other. Other than straight forward statistics and rankings, it's all a matter of opinion as to what school you think is better for you.

And for the record, I'm about as un-biased as you can get. I like both UF and FSU. I've been accepted at FSU, and I'll hear back from UF when everyone else does in February. They're both good schools, just go wherever you feel is best for you. Not what other people say is the "better" school.

Glad to see the sports trash talk stop.

Academically the difference is much less or non-existent than you suggest.

FSU does have better programs in some areas, likewise UF does have some better programs in some areas. The rest is quite similar. Right now both are suffering due to thin budgets.

What are you basing your opinion off? US News rankings? lawlll

"Better" remains subjective even in regards to academics. You cannot know the difference unless you have tried all these programs at both schools, and that is impossible. The US News ranking methodology is such ********, and anyone who buys into such rankings is a fool if you ask me.

Gosh FSU's academics are so terrible that the last three Rhodes Scholars from Florida were FSU students, right? Why did such exceptional students decide to go to FSU if UF is soooo much better?

lol I should not let these trivial threads get to me, but I just do not understand why people feel the need to place UF on such a high pedestal for undergrad. There is no basis for such an argument. It is greatly overrated, imo, and threads like these are only testament to that.

"Gosh FSU's academics are so terrible that the last three Rhodes Scholars from Florida were FSU students, right? Why did such exceptional students decide to go to FSU if UF is soooo much better?"

Money? Lots of scholarship money?

Jman2306, I never said FSU had terrible academics. I think it's quite underated, and it's not all that far behind UF, IMO. Academically "better" may be subjective, but just because that the last three Rhodes scholars came from FSU doesn't mean that it's on par or better than UF. The average student at UF has like a +60ish SAT over FSU students, and an average GPA of like 4.1.

I don't think UF is all that much better academically than FSU. I mean it in the way that Harvard is better than Dartmouth, or Chris Paul is better than Tony Parker (NBA point garuds, for those of you who don't know sports). And obviously there are some programs at both schools that are better or worse than the other school. Both are great options, but judging by student quality and program rankings, I'd say that UF is better academically overall. But it just comes down to which one your like more, because they're both great options.

Harvard is not better than Dartmouth, and UF is no better than FSU.

Well after reading every thread on this particular forum and all of the others consisting of the opinions of which school is better I must say I’m quite shocked. I’m on my way home from my college road trip as we speak. Coming from an “all-of-her-life” gator fan and someone who has made sure to get whatever she needs to become a gator, I’ve lost all compassion for this school. When I first arrived I was so excited on my tour. Then the admission session started and I felt as if I was in detention. It was cold uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As oppose to the day before I visited FSU (which I loved but told my self my UF tour would blow my mind) my mindset completely changed. FSU is where I want to go. I know I’ll get into both, well most
Likely, I will for sure choose FSU. My one issue is I will be studying premed and I’ve been told UF has a better premed program, is this true? I do not like the feel of UF whatsoever though, so if anyone could please tell me here they both stand when it comes to the PreMed programs. Please and thanks.
