Umich Transfer Thread: Winter 2018

@CosmicPotato
They actually have a section to apply as a new freshman for winter 2018 if you have 0 credits ! I think it’s mostly for kids who took gap semesters.

I currently go to one of the “directionals” in Michigan, have a 4.0 (3.2 in hs), and applied with 36 transferable credits, though I completed 42 (6 won’t transfer). I submitted the common app on September 11, though I only got everything in (transcripts and ACT) about a week before the Oct 1 deadline. My admissions counselor was Norwood. Again, good luck to you all

Congrats!!!Did you know through the portal or email?

@CosmicPotato I applied transfer to CoE. Do we hear back later than LSA people?

@jdance Yup lol. We get it worse than everyone else :frowning: I talked to Michael Oelke and he said COE usually releases week before/week after thanksgiving. Pretty much in line with last years thread too.

@Abigaillaine awesome!!! good luck :smiley:

@Wolverinewinter18 Portal, still haven’t gotten the email yet

Congrats, I just got off the phone with admissions and the lady told me I might be waiting another 8 weeks before I know my decision. Kinda sucks, but I got accepted into Baylor so gotta take the good with the bad. Good luck to all of you.

@dwane1 not sure how they can make anyone wait 8 more weeks as the transfer orientations begin in approximately 8 weeks. I was told 4-6 weeks after your application is marked

I called again today B-) they told me 6-8 weeks from when your application was marked complete.

@ConcrndMom, I was baffled as well, and my app was submitted 9/7. I even clarified that if that was the case I wouldn’t be able to enroll for courses if I was accepted.

where can you check to see if your application is complete?

@val143 call admissions and ask

So I’m still waiting on a decision, however, I just got an email from financial aid requesting documents. No problem, I do this every year at my current school.
But then I see that the due date for these docs to recieve aid for winter 2018 was june 1st??? I didn’t even know to apply for aid yet, applications only opened aug 1st.
Did I royally mess up here? Did anyone else apply for aid already? According to wolverine access they only even requested the docs today.
I’m hella confused and kind of panicking now.

@casalmon Hey, so I received my decision around Oct 4-5 and I had no knowledge of submitting financial aid papers prior to getting admitted. If this helps, I did receive all my acceptance papers in the mail and they have instructions on how to receive scholarships and aid by submitting the FAFSA and a website I can go to apply for scholarships, the ones I qualify for. Hopefully this helps cause it just means that after admission we have chances to get aid.

Hey! Just wanted to say that I was accepted Tuesday morning and that my admissions counselor was still said to be out of town. So don’t worry if yours says the same, you can still hear back! Good luck to you all (:

Anyone who applied transfer to engineering hear back?

Congratulations @Kmakino ! Who is your counselor?

@akk987 I got accepted this morning, so i’m hoping to figure it out monday. I noticed online they only have financial aid due dates for applying fall term, so maybe the its just copy-paste deal. Either way I’m now too excited over getting in to be panicking anymore lol

Can I ask about stats for people getting accepted and what schools?
