@aftfl12 what was the incident? lol
Yeah I’m with John, we need more information.
T-minus 2 weeks
does anyone know if it matters what your second semester grades are at your current school if you are accepted? Aren’t they just transferred as credits and then you start over with your GPA? (currently have a C+ in an upper level accounting class)
@martintrevor I’ve heard and been told that as long as all of your grades aren’t bad that you’ll be fine. If you have like one C, you’ll be okay
@BryantB02 thank you, i hope that is the case
Anyone interested in starting a groupme? Would be a ton easier to use than this site
I’m all for it
I wouldn’t mind as long as information that 2018’s round of transfers makes its way onto the forum.
It may be better to wait and make the groupme for accepted transfers who will be going to UNC so everyone can get to know each other
how many people do you think applied this year? does it seem like a lot? because on their website they seem to accept the same amount no matter what and obviously chances are better if less people applied.
I gathered these stats. I also know that for freshman they had a record amount of applicants this year. ALSO, I have been told that plan to enroll around 800 transfer students, so plan on them accepting around 1200.
2016,17 - 2772 applied and 1271 admitted - 45.8%
2015,16 - 2735 applied and 1215 admitted - 44.4%
2014,15 - 3271 applied and 1383 admitted - 42.2%
2013,14 - 3432 applied and 1360 admitted - 39.6%
2012,13 - 3169 applied and 1357 admitted - 42.8%
2011,12 - 2859 applied and 1198 admitted - 41.9%
2010,11 - 3172 applied and 1286 admitted - 40.5%
2009,10 - 3316 applied and 1183 admitted - 35.6%
…and regarding the groupme, I just feel like it is a lot more accessible than this message board.
400 on the waitlist
So does that mean if you include those accepted and the wait list, that’s over 50% of the applicants?
They only take 800 is so
Well they would take all 1200 if everyone wanted to @jtut2006 . Admitted is diffeeent than enrolled. They want 800 students so historically they know they can accept around 1200 students, not including the waitlist.
@isuncforme493 : why do they need the waitlist? Will it be the buffer?
@ScQuan No one really gets accepted off the waitlist it seems. But I suppose that they need one just in case. Usually they accept 1200-1300 people knowing that about 700-800 will enroll. But in the low chance that 650 enroll, then the waitlist would be used. I think. Lol.
@isuncforme493 : And they may put the uncertain applications into the waitlist. If enrolled number is low, they review those.
@ScQuan They don’t rank their waitlist though and it seems to be pretty large judging from last year’s forum. I don’t know. It’s nicer than a rejection but in the end it’s the same thing.
