University of Miami class of 2022

I don think they’re coming out today - I’d bet on Thursday or Friday

Hi, I have a 3.55 GPA unweighted, 4AP classes upward trend in grades (freshmen year was a 3.28), 1320 SAT(710 math) go to the #3 best public schooling system in Michigan . Got deferred from Tulane. Have very good recommendations and an essay that had made people cry(brother with Autism) and lots of experience with working with kids on the spectrum, varsity athelete. Thoughts of my chances of getting in? Be honest.

Think you should get in easily @AD1433

is it harder to get into the Business School or the School of Education and Human Development .

how difficult is it to get into arts & sciences compared to the other schools?

Are decisions coming out today?

What time would they come out

I’m not expecting anything till at least Thursday… would be nice to know today though

They’re not coming out today. It’s almost 6, a school would normally release their results between the hours of 4-5. Don’t bother checking until MUCH later this week.

I have a 1440 new sat score (720 and 720 with a 22/24 essay) with a 3.87 unweighted gpa, third in my class, 6 AP classes, many extracurriculars and sports, good community service and letters of recommendation. I’m nervous about getting in bc I’ve seen so many people with better scores get denied or waitlisted. I got rejected from Vanderbilt ED and went UM early action. Anybody have any input on my chances? I also applied to Tulane, u of Richmond, Boston College, northeastern, Lehigh, u of Tampa, colgate, and u of Delaware but Miami is my top choice.

I would say your chances of getting into the U are the same as they were for Tulane @AD1433

I got into University of Tampa and University of South Florida for EA as a journalism major, but Miami is my top choice also. I feel you have a good chance tho especially with those stats @user1432 I’m the one that has to be worried rn not u lol

@mags425 it was sent to my personal email, last Wednesday I believe.

Has anyone who applied EA gotten an invitation to the scholarship weekends??? i know the notifications already went out to ED applicants who were accepted but I really thought I had great stats to be invited and have heard nothing relating to it. I’m assuming they’ll notify about scholarships when the acceptances come out for EA? but also that’s being thrown up as the 26th maybe and the deadline to register for scholarship weekend is the 25th, so without the invite code to sign up I wouldn’t even be able to try…slightly worried…or then again maybe my app just wasn’t good enough. opinions PLEASE

I didn’t because I didn’t even know about the scholarship weekends. I did not apply for any of them

The scholarship weekend is exclusively through invitation only. It is not something that you “apply” for. Based on the applicant pool, the admission staff nominates the applicants that have outstanding credentials in order to interview for the full ride scholarships. You have to be hand-picked and selected. If you did not receive an email, then you were not selected, so you don’t have to worry about the deadline for the scholarship weekend. @cams18 @Kd6410 Hope that helped.

@dreamchaser2k18 Ah, I see - I’m above their 75th percentile but I’m by no means extraordinary. Tulane and Michigan State both gave me big scholarships so if Miami can’t match I won’t go

Smart plan. @Kd6410 I want study journalism but Miami is still developing that department… A lot of notable colleges have accepted me with big scholarships, and are also immersed in my major: Emerson College, U Tampa, Hofstra, Syracuse (still waiting).

@dreamchaser2k18 Congrats! Those are all good school - good luck on Syracuse! My grandparents both went there

I contacted my admissions counselor and they now have told me to expect a decision in early February.
