University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

@coral420 wow! You sound like a stellar applicant! If you don’t get in, I don’t know anyone who would. Keep grinding

@ericacv i feel like EA because they know that you’re likely to come? idk

Got into BC, SMU, Elon and Notre Dame this week, so I had pretty high hopes for at least a deferral or acceptance from Michigan, which is pretty much my number one school now. Buttttt I just got deferred from Tulane tonight, so now I’m questioning EVERYTHING. What did I do wrong??? Now my stomach is literally in knots for Michigan and now I’m starting to think a rejection might be a possibility.

Tulane is known to reject students who they would normally accept, but show no interest and to Tulane it seems like the student won’t attend. Some students use it as an Ivy Safety, and Tulane rejects students who don’t look like they will attend.

@zncmama My son was accepted EA as a OOS in 2014. He didn’t end up attending (ended up at Brown). I don’t know if things have changed since then, but there were a large number of his classmates that got in EA as well…

I am so nervous about UMich. I know that a deferral is not that bad but I just really want to get accepted but I just don’t know if I am qualified enough. I think my biggest strength is that I am a female interested in a male-dominated field, but I don’t know how far that will take me…

Good luck to you hopeful wolverines! My sister is applying and I feel that anxiety and nervousness of college applications all over again.

I applied early to Michigan, got in EA, and graduated in spring of 2015. It is, undoubtedly, the best school and college experience in the world.
It might be stressful now (and potentially freshman year as you adjust from being the best in your class in high school to being the same as everyone at Michigan) but it is so worth it to be one of the leaders and best.

Go blue forever!

what field

@chuckles0204 math

In state student who is trying really hard to not get their hopes up :’)

what were your stats if you don’t mind

@LetsGoBlue2015 ^

does everyone get an email or do only people who got accepted or deferred get one?

Everyone

how are y’all paying for college? i need help bc my parents say they’ll only put in 30k. how do i convince them. i tried saying that i’ve worked hard the past 12 years and i deserve a good education. they aren’t buying it

@misskiesha420 Everyone receives an email. Those who are accepted receive paper correspondence as well.

@hugebig10girl Stats from 7 years ago would be very different. The mid 50 ACT shift at least 2 points upward.

Are OOS most likely to pay full cost of attendance? Or are scholarships generous?

merit scholarships are very unlikely unless you are incredibly outstanding

In-state student here who applied to both the SMTD and to LSA but decided to only apply to LSA after my application was submitted. I didn’t send in an audition and I sent an email to admissions about my decision but didn’t get notified until a few days ago that my email was bounced back and never reached admissions. Anyone think this will affect my decision?
