University of Michigan - Ann Arbor Winter 2017

@unusedusername I’d recommend calling admissions and asking them these questions and as soon as possible.

Under “other required application materials” I’m not seeing anything pop up underneath it. I sent in all my transcripts from colleges & high school at least 2-3 weeks ago. Will it take a while for them to update the information? I just want to make sure I have everything in. Would contacting my counselor at U of M be beneficial?

@97hannah The only thing that showed up in that section for me was my high school transcript. It should say the date the transcript was received. Although, when I was waiting for my high school to send the transcript, it said “Final Secondary School Record - Not received.”

As far as the transcripts from colleges, it will be in the “view application data” link. At the bottom it will list the previous schools with the dates you received degrees. I have a date for my high school diploma and associate’s degree. The other two colleges I attended have no dates for degrees since I transferred from them.

So if you’re questioning whether the transcripts were sent properly or if they haven’t been received, call admissions 734/764-7433. They will look for the documents and at least tell you if they’ve been received. Maybe they just haven’t been updated yet!

Good luck!

Try to use live chat. I had the same problem and one of the team kindly helped me out and told me that mine had not been processed because there was no graduation date on my transcript. You might have a similar problem.

Hi everyone! I applied again for Winter 2017, I was denied Summer 2016. I am not your traditional transfer student. I graduated High School in 2004 with a 3.33 GPA (all AP and Honors classes). I was sick when I took the ACT and flopped it, scored a 19 - never retook it. I attended Wayne State immediately after graduating, but only attended for a Semester, well if you can call it that. I quit going to my classes, I ended up passing only one of them. Anyways, nowadays I have an established career as an Instructor for a technical school. I am attending Northeastern University (online classes) in Boston, MA. The school just switched over from Quarter credits to Semester credits. I have 70 Quarter credits and am currently enrolled in 12 Semester credits now. I have a 3.941 GPA. My application has been complete for a couple weeks. I am hoping to hear back soon. Good luck to you all!

where can I find the live chat? thank you

I was holding out hope I would hear back today but doesn’t look like it. I don’t imagine they send out admissions decisions over the weekend so gotta wait at least until next week to hear back. Getting worried over here. When I applied in the fall I heard back about a week after my application was marked as complete. I think it may have been faster because I didn’t have as many credits before so it was more of a hail marry when I applied. I am worried that only the definite accepts or definite denies hear back quickly and I’m gonna be waiting on the edge of my seat forever for my decision.

@historyrepeat keep holding on! I’m stressing out over here too… I’m starting to think the ones accepted quickly are trying to torture us! Maybe our applications are just so amazing that they had to show them off to all their colleagues… has to be the only explanation.

@historyrepeat when I talked to a UMich admissions rep yesterday she said it would take something like 5-8 weeks after marked complete. Just know that you’ve done all you can up to this point and don’t let it worry you! Just let the universe work its magic, think good things!

This waiting game is killing me

@mamamu8282 tell me about it! Explain to me why I keep checking for updates on the weekend…

at the very least I’m hoping to hear back before November. I thought it would be somewhat soon that I’d hear back because all I did was roll over my application and I had all the material in pretty early but I can understand it’ll take a bit. I saw a reddit thread like this one where someone said they spoke to admissions and were told “at the latest it’ll be mid December”. I can’t imagine waiting that long I think I would age a year. He might’ve been COE or something though I have a hard time believing someone applying to LSA wouldn’t get their decision until December.

Check your Wolverine Access, I was admitted this morning!

@bluedreamer Congrats! I have yet to hear anything. I’m refreshing to hear your story and see that they accepted you! All the luck to you in your education!!

@jessaw6 Thanks! It’s kind of crazy. Based off the years prior and what admissions had told me, I didn’t think I’d hear back until mid November. I have to say the number one reason I was accepted, I believe, was being a Veteran. I would recommended the Military to anyone, it’s done nothing but open doors for me.

@bluedreamer I’m truly glad to hear that! We rarely hear the good stories about opportunities for veterans. How long ago did you complete your application?

@jessaw6 I submitted all my stuff on September 14th.

@bluedreamer Thanks. I had everything in by the September 19th. I feel like I’m probably on the fence of acceptance or denial if the decision wasn’t immediate.

Has anyone else heard back yet? This can’t be all who’s applied…

It is my third time applying…hope I make it this time…
They received all my documents on Oct.5th
