Is there a good chance of getting in after the first wave of results? Still waiting on my decision
Hey yāall. I applied to the CoE and Preferred Admission to Rossā¦ I was initially deferred and Iām currently still deferred as it seems. On the 5th, a kid right next to me in class got in after being deferred but he applied to LSA- we, of course, have the same counselor though. Is this a bad sign? Or does this just mean she needs more time for mine. We applied to different schools (Iām the better applicant on paper) but stillā¦ we go to the same school she only accepted him
Anybody receive information about scholarships? Jean Fairfax or Shipmanās etc?
I donāt think University of Michigan really takes these letters of continued interest into consideration. I was deferred EA as well, and their website said something along the lines of āwe already have all the information we need.ā So I did not send an email with updates or anything, and I was accepted to LSA a couple days ago.
I applied EA and was initially deferred. I received my letter on Friday and I was accepted. I got a 1960 on my SAT and a 3.9 GPA overall. My stats werenāt all that great, so Iām actually pretty shocked. But I hope this gives all of those who are still waiting to hear back hope! If I can, then all of you definitely can get in! Good luck!
Hey guys! Just wanted to meet a few fellow Ross pre-admit applicants, I was deferred myself and got in on Friday and now would like to see some of yāall. Good luck to those of you guys still waiting!

I know a person who has high 2200 SAT and didnāt sent the letter of continued interest. He got admitted as well.
I was reading through some of the replies to the letter of interest, and idk if itās just me, but I got this;
Thank you for your continued interest in the University of Michigan please be assured that it will be noted in my evaluation of your application, along with the recent accomplishments you shared and I will use this information to continue to advocate for your admission.
The University received a record breaking 30,000+ early action applications this year, so admission was very competitive and we were not able to admit all of the academically excellent students who applied. At the University of Michigan we use a holistic and comprehensive review process that looks beyond a studentās GPA and test score. We are also assessing their curriculum, extra-curricular involvement, leadership & awards, personal characteristics, and essays. Additionally, we gauge the level of interest the applicant demonstrates in the University, as well as their fit within our campus community.
Before we can make a final decision on your application we need to further evaluate the strength of the regular decision applicants, as well as the yield rate of our admitted students to determine if we have space for you in the freshman class. Please submit your mid-year grades when they become available so they can be considered, but other than that there is nothing further we need from you at this time. As stated in your deferral letter, we will have a final admissions decision for you in early April.
Again, admission to the University of Michigan is the most competitive it has ever been this year, so although you are still a very strong candidate for consideration, I would encourage you to keep the University of Michigan as an option, but also explore the other opportunities available to you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Best,

It says that Iām a āvery strong candidate for considerationā. Does it say that in all replies or does it actually mean something?
Hey so I was deferred EA (OOS legacy, ~3.7 GPA 2390 SAT) checked WA this morning and it said I was accepted to LSA (RC, too) but I havenāt received any email or letter of acceptance or anything. Was there a glitch orā¦idk. Should I be celebrating?
McKilla99, my son got the exactly reply of interest letter like you. He got accepted last Friday. Hope you good luck!
Same here, easyparent, son got deferred before Christmas and accepted last Friday (in an email).
32 ACT, 3.9 unweighted, OOS
Good luck McKilla99!!
@meira1660 celebrate!
@McKilla99 who did you address the letter to?
@schoolisfunforme my regional counselor, i.e the person whoās gonna review my application.
My folks are asking if thereās a FB page that allows parents of admitted students to network. Purdue has a page like that. Its really helpful.
@McKilla99 how did you find out who your regional counselor was?
So after reading the response @McKilla99 got after submitting their Letter of Cont. interest I am really worried. I got a not so āpositiveā response. Below is the response I got (there is no mention of me being a strong candidate)

@friendslover ā¦admitted on 2/5 after being initially deferred. here is the letter received after sending a letter of continued interest. there is no mention of being a strong candidate, but it does say the counselor will continue to advocate for my admissionā¦maybe that meant something, maybe not. donāt give up hope! good luck to all!!!
