@FrustratedMom. Did he check Wolverine Access? The decision is probably there.
Waitlisted. D will not be joining her sister. Guess we will have some fun Big 10 rivalry- Go Badgers!
Checked WA this morning waitlisted. At least the wait is over. Now I can commit to my 2nd choice school.
S is wait listed. Dust has settled, now it is time to make a decision and moving on! Best of luck everyone!
Still no news for my son…no email and no update on WA. How many others still haven’t heard?
My D has not heard yet. We are in state
@SCMom33 Us too. LSA with preferred Ross, your D?
LSA Math major…Plans to transfer to engineering.
Its up for most people now it seems, accepted OOS
I still haven’t heard back and I’m in state
Rejected, but this was my third choice school anyways.
DS waitlisted. At least we have a decision. He was computer science, 35 ACT, 4.2 weighted GPA, 8 APs, scholar- athlete, OOS. He had told me a month ago that a waitlist was a no for him so at least we can move on with making a decision to go elsewhere. I think that this whole process with UM turned him off – I know it turned me off. He has some other great options at schools that gave him merit money – he was accepted everywhere else he applied. Best of luck to all on this thread and congrats to those who were accepted.
Accepted after a deferral in December to LSA. 31 ACT, 4.1 UW and 3.8 W GPA. In state. Strong extracurriculars.
Do you know if your decision was available after midnight or are decisions coming out all day at any time?
@nbsquared Sorry you were disillusioned with the process but they announced decisions in accordance with their schedule. It’s 31 March. They said they would release decisions by the end of March. In any event, I’m glad your S has other options. He’ll do fine. Michigan is, after all, just a university.
@FrustratedMom Many great student were not admitted. However, Michigan has done nothing wrong. It never said it would released decisions any earlier than the end of March. Many universities have still to make their decisions. I’m sorry you were disappointed but you do have options. I suppose the lesson to be learned is not to rely on conjecture. Most of the angst has been created by inaccurate information on CC.
I think you misunderstood. It would prefer that my son does not attend university of Michigan. I believe it is overpriced for undergraduate studies. I will certainly support him if he gets in and if he gets sufficient scholarships. I am doubtful about both. He is accepted to excellent schools in engineering with academic scholarships that put the price at about 5 thousand over in state tuition. I did not say the university did anything “wrong”. My frustration is with the process. Most other state schools have released their acceptances. There must be a way Michigan can improve this process. Knowing students who were not accepted last year, my son does not have a chance. Why are they dragging out the process? They should have know at the time they deferred him from early acceptance that he was not a match. My fear is that he will be accepted without scholarship. If so, the university made a big mistake in who they denied last year. They were a axing candidates. The total package.
UNC and UVa both waited until yesterday or late last week. The elite publication wade through a lot more apps and can be a lot more choosy. They also have to be very careful not to over-offer, which Mich has done and ended up with too many kids.
It just is what it is. Best not to let it even bother you bc it is not personal. It’s just their way of doing business.
@ProudDad26 I am so happy for your daughter! I have been literally worried about her for months…lol! I am sure with such a small group our daughters are bound to run into each other. Go Blue!!
Waitlisted. OOS. 28 ACT and 4.00 GPA. Doesn’t really affect me as much because I’ve already made other plans. To everyone that got accepted, congrats!
