Hmm. Interesting. I really don’t know. I guess it would’ve been dependant on what type of year he had at GT. His freshman year at Michigan was amazing since he started a student org that is now very active on campus and won some grants for said club, and did a summer leadership training thing etc. Also in theory GT is supposed to be more cut throat not as collaborative from people we know. But hindsight is 20/20 right.
But he is also the kid that once he plants himself somewhere will just make it work out.
Hopefully decisions are released tomorrow regardless of admitted or declined. I need to fully invest myself in the school I’m 99.9% going to attend. (I will gladly take that .01 percent of attending Umich though.)
I just called admissions. A young girl answered (very sweet). She said today is not the day. She’s being told to tell callers decisions are coming in the “near future”. She didn’t know an exact date though.
This is my first time posting. I know how hard it is to wait. My son is waiting too and very anxious to hear. I didn’t want him obsessing all day checking the portal which is why I finally called. Good luck to everyone!!!
@Lisahdj Thank you very much! I just called admissions too and they said the same thing. They told me I could expect to hear back within “the next few weeks”.
Likely some are getting an offer, and the waitlist is being kept open through July or beyond. They are possibly waiting for the international students, or others who might decide to stay home. Prolly thought they’d know for sure after places closed their lists, but nobody is closing their list. At least not the big state schools. Stanford just let in a wave. Everything is today turvey this year! Ugh!
