@jcwjnw99 I looked into it & they agreed to consider his 2016 income which was a good bit lower, and the $30k was the result of that. They have to use his income, nothing I can do about it. They say it denotes his ability to pay, not his willingness & realize it can be unfair but must account for all monies they allot. They also say on their website they do not match other schools offers & never negotiate based on what we get from other schools. Roanoke, being private & not a CSS profile school, gave us so much more, $45k, but part of that was merit aid, which D didn’t qualify for at Richmond.

Anyone else so scared to look at their mailbox tomorrow
I hope VA residents get something in the mail Monday. Would they send rejection letters as well with this process?
I have the exact same question, would they be delivered at the same time or might the admissions office wait to send out rejection letters?
So will there be any updates on the portal?
Richmond is also a private school.
From my understanding rejection & waitlist go out at same time but in smaller envelopes. They don’t put those pix on twitter though, of course, so it’s confusing.
What are the chances that NY will get the letters tomorrow?
50/50, I’m closer than you here in SC. UR mailed them at 4:00 on a tuesday & we got it friday, hosever, if your in NYC it’s a huge city so ail goes there more frequently.
Hey guys, what about international applicants? How will they receive their decisions?
I was talking to a current student and she said that she also got an email about her acceptance, so maybe we’ll get one today or tomorrow before we can check our mail boxes
Good luck everyone❤
@cloudysmom thanks for sharing about the financial aid stats. My parents have about the same earnings, and if I could get that 30k in grants like your daughter did I would be ecstatic. I got the early admit letter from Richmond a couple weeks ago and have been anxiously waiting for my FA package…it’s my top choice school and I would be devastated that I’ve been accepted and couldn’t attend for financial reasons. I know that Richmond is REALLY great at fulfilling need-based aid though, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
@Rwoo24 I was waitlisted last year as a freshmen and a girl in my town got her acceptance a few days before I got my waitlist. I think it was because the flat rate envelopes come faster.
@camwow Richmond is genuinely committed to holistic review and so your passion for ice-skating really seems to push through. An upward trend is always a good thing, and it seems like you’re taking the most difficult classes offered at your school which admissions counselors love to see. I wrote my personal statement about rice (omg) although I wrote the Richmond supplemental essay about Spiders. I got an early acceptance also worried about my stats but honestly, they’re just looking for unique students who have something to contribute to the university. Good luck!! I hope you get good news (:
@Glang77 Are you sure she wasn’t an international student or scholarship recipient? If you are from the US and aren’t receiving a scholarship you only get yours in the mail.
Just received the mail in Central NJ. Daughter was accepted to Richmond with a generous FA offer. Very excited!
When will internationals get their decisions?
At akin67, how “fat” was the envelope. My daughter’s arrived today in a 8 x 11 envelope but I don’t want to open it until she gets home from school. Would a rejection letter come in a smaller envelope??
