Which state are you from??!
CT
@impatientmom Go to University of Richmond’s Facebook or Twitter page and scroll down a few posts. On Friday, they posted a pic of acceptance letters they were sending out en masse.
Thank you MON824. That’s the size of envelope she received but I was expecting it to be thicker… Do you think she would notice if I steamed it open?!
I’d just leave it. I, as an applicant, would feel better if my parents didn’t. I was actually expecting it to be smaller; my Mac acceptance was much more compact.
@impatientmom My waitlist (last year) came in a regular letter envelope. Rejections also came the same way. It was not as big as the acceptances.
@rvalover7 Ouch. That’s kinda crappy. In that case, @impatientmom, do what you will -_-
It was a large 8 × 11 envelope with a folder and 5 - 10 pages of info. Had a big spider in the middle. We are located in Central New Jersey.
8 x 11 envelope but no folder inside it. No spider or circle on the envelope. Postage is 46 cents…She was waitlisted…
@MON284 Honestly, better than being rejected. I thought I was going to get rejected last year. I applied as a transfer so I find out this weekend if luck was in my favor this time. @impatientmom Being waitlisted isn’t great, but it isn’t bad either. Your daughter still has a shot at getting in. Make sure she follows the directions in there and shows interest. Richmond takes a good handful of waitlists each year.
@impatientmom It does look that way but can’t be sure till she opens it, WL is still a chance!
@pinkspider17 I felt the same way, wanted to be excited but we couldn’t afford to send her unless we had great aid. From my understanding, if your parents make under $65k you practically get a free ride, my ex messed that up for me as he makes too much & his income had to be joined with mine so together over $100k & we still got $30k from them. Good luck! Call FA & ask who your rep is, them email & introduce yourself, ask if they need any further info & say you are waiting to get excited and do they know when you should expect the aid award to me mailed.
I live in RI and got my acceptance today! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear!
The letter talked about getting over 10,000 applications. It seems most of the leading schools are getting record applications each year. Chasing a moving target is always tough. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.
Did anyone in MD get their acceptance letter?
I got waitlisted. It’s unfortunate because Richmond was one of my top choices and they explicitly say on the waitlist information page that they do not award merit based aid to anyone on the waitlist. It is kind of a double edged sword because since I don’t meet the requirements for federal aid I depend solely on merit based aid.
I live in NY by the way
I’m really sorry to hear that @rockyc I’m sure you will end up somewhere though!
@Glang77 thank you! I still put my name on the waitlist but there is no way my parents will pay 62,000 a year.
@impatientmom We are from NJ and my daughter was waitlisted today. It was a small regular envelope (trifold paper) with a trifold flyer with waitlist info.
