@neutopschool Congrats! Those are great schools! We live in SC and Clemson has changed their acceptance rates as it’s trying to compete with higher level schools, it’s much harder to get into these days. D’s HS counselor made an announcement that many who apply thinking they can get in because their siblings do are ending up dissapointed as it’s so much harder to get into now. I have heard great things about UCONN & U of Miami as well.
My D applied RD to Villanova too, although she’s going to UR. I hear Lafayette is wonderful but very hard! Will you be happy going to a school where you’ve already been accepted? do you have a favorite?
@cloudysmom Yes I’d go to UMiami however I didn’t get much financial aid there. My stats were fine for the school that I got rejected to but 54,000 people applied so they were very selective this year with their admits. So we’ll see! Congrats on your D
@momoffive I hear you! Congrats to your daughter on the Rutgers Honors Program! We’re waiting on a few schools as well but the reality is that our VA state school w/honors and merit aid that brings us to $15k a year seems like the most sensible route for us right now. Our son is excited about graduating without debt and we’re excited about the ROI! Good Luck to your daughter!
@neutopschool Congrats! Those are all great choices. Don’t be too worried about the process. You win some and you lose some. That was the best piece of advice I received as a senior applying to schools. Ultimately, I wasn’t happy with my choice, so I decided to pursue Richmond and a few other schools to transfer to. You can always apply as a Transfer if you don’t get in this time! I think you will be fine though. Don’t doubt yourself, believe in your ability!
@neutopschool That’s great! Yes, financial aid sure is important! Good luck to you, hope everyone finds out soon, I know how hard waiting it! Torture! Thanks about my D!
I think the letters are only sent to a select few (yet) because the tweet says “Get excited! @URadmission released decision letters today to SOME lucky #newspiders!” I don’t know how to interpret that…
Wait so are decisions only through regular mail (not email or portal)? On Facebook it said the decisions “rolled out” today and “Congrats to students and families celebrating tonight!” so that’s kinda strange because how could people be celebrating if the mail was just sent today? Lol
@kgcollege17 They release them by mail but I believe international applicants are emailed (not sure), but I thought I read one time that they get emails since mail takes longer to get to them. Also scholars were notified so maybe that’s why they are congratulating some families.
I’m curious as to whether they are mailed priority. I know USC does this with acceptances so that they arrive quickly, so I wonder if Richmond does the same. If so many people could truly hear tomorrow.
