@snicks1234 They will see your are first gen from the common app when you fill in info about your parents, that will be clear to them. And all of that new stuff should absolutely be reported…maybe call admissions and ask them the best way to update your application. The midyears should be sent the normal way.

Hey did anyone get their financial aid reward?? I turned everything (FAFSA, CSS, additional docs through email) in but I don’t see it, and I was under the impression that if you had everything done by 12/31, you would see how much you received on decision day…

Early Action. I was extremely surprised since my grades werent the greatest. I got a 30 on the ACT and a 1980 on the old SAT.

It says on the decision letter that financial aid packages will be posted in mid-March.
Are deferred applicants seen as a whole new application? Or do they look at all the regular applications, then take another look at deferred kids

Regarding financial aid awards: Though the letter mentions mid-March for the mailing of awards, it’s possible that preliminary awards might be available online for some people pretty soon. From the UVA website:
“The following documents are required of all applicants. Early action students must submit all of these documents, in addition to the Profile and the FAFSA, prior to January 1, 2017, in order to receive a preliminary award by February 1.”
My D just got in EA, and we had all the documents in by then, so I’m hoping there might be something from financial aid this week.
