Do you know if I can Skype with advisors to get advice ? Cause I live in IL and I wouldn’t be able to be on campus physically to get advice or visit. Thank u!
@KimberlyNStew wow that sounds awesome
@TNIU94 you can set up a Skype or phone session via Sakai
It was honestly amazing. I had never been to campus before, so everything was new to me. The tour guides structured their tours around the fact that we were transfers and not first years, so we didn’t have to listen to a bunch of redundant information. And meeting the advisors at the program was cool. You could really tell that UNC was dedicated to helping transfers transition.
Had questions about the immunization records we are supposed to send it. On the website it says that we must include our full name and PID #…I emailed them and asked how do we include this on official documents…they said that we could write them on each page because they only need copies of the form(s). Also there was a question that asks for height/weight and they said we could estimate these numbers. Hope this helps someone.
Any military who got in (Ok, National Guard included)? I’m going here for Green to Gold!
Hi. So I got my transfer report on connect carolina and literally all my credits went into electives, but still places me at junior standing next year… with UNC’s 8 semester policy does this mean I have 2 semesters to complete a full major and all gen eds…
That can’t be right.
@catlas2014 I wasn’t aware of there 8 semester policy until now… They used quite a few of my credits, but I still have a lot left. There is no way they would all be done in 2 semesters… I’m getting a little worried now If you take summer classes does that count in the 8 semesters as well?
@catlas2014 the way in which an advisor told me was that for every 15 credits equal 1 semester…he also told me that taking classes during the summer don’t count as a “semester” and that in some cases transfers are given an extra semester, and in rare cases even up to ten semesters. But if I were you I would set up an appointment (skype, phone, etc) with an advisor through Sakai and they will clear it all up for you. I had similar questions about my major and they helped…so don’t worry it could all be misunderstanding
Thanks guys. Yes, I set up an appointment, I’m just antsy and want to figure this out pronto haha. Again, thanks!
I was also wondering if anyone else is having trouble with transferring English 111 and 114 to cover Eng 105.
I’ve been working and going to school for the past 4 years and I’m considered to be in the 2012 catalog year at my community college. In the 2012 catalog year it was not mandatory to take Eng 112 and you had the choice between Eng 112,113, and 114. Do you all think I can get that reevaluated?
@transferstudentUNC They used my Eng 111 to cover Engl 105.
@dmimima
Did you take any other English?
@ltfezha I’m separating the Air Force this Fall and got accepted after 8.5 years of enlisted service. How long will it take to complete green to gold?
@Brentley88 I requested separation to pursue a commission in the Air Force ROTC. Might take me 3 years. I’ll be majoring in Business. I’m prior Army, 3 years, medic.
What do you plan on doing?
Did anyone have trouble logging into their ConnectCarolina after accepting their offer of admission? It says my account expired…Is this normal?
Is anyone here planning to complete the English-105 portfolio?
Also, is there a Facebook group?

Hey guys! I have a question I was wondering if anyone could help me. Today is the deadline to pay the deposit but I’m still waiting for Cornell’s decision. What happens if I pay the deposit but then decide not to attend UNC? (Besides the fact that I’ll lose my money of course).
@heyheyhey96 when do you hear back from Cornell?? Though it is frowned upon I honestly don’t think anything will happen if you decide not to go…better safe than sorry…
