Unofficial UNC Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@catlas2014 don’t freak out :frowning: you’ll get to call them bright and early and will be able to explain the situation…plus, if you’re able to send it electronically…it will legit be there in no time. I could be wrong but I doubt they’ve started reviewing apps anyhow. thinking positive sometimes bring positive outcomes.

So I’m just wondering about the college report, is that sent with the transcript?

Yeah, for we need to send in the college report? Or is that not necessary, because it never said anything about it in the to do list.

@Gowolfpacks18 haha you’re very right, the woman I spoke to said if I mailed it now they’d probably never know it was late. I was just worried because online it said to make sure you have all material in by March 1st. Ugh this whole assemblance of information is so very stressful. I just found out that the Secondary School Report (that my high school said they didn’t fill out for transfer applicants) is needed at another school I’ve applied to. Of course haha. Happy Thursday y’all.

Do you think UNC will care if I withdraw from one course this semester?

Won’t impact my GPA just a W

@cmartin12 as long as you maintain a good credit load and tell UNC about it, I don’t think it would be a problem.

@catlas2014 it’ll drop me 18 to 15 which I don’t like the sound of that.

@cmartin12 I think they would rather you drop it than get a bad grade in the class

Question: My College Report and SAT scores STILL haven’t updated and I sent them about a month ago. I get that files, especially sent by snail mail take a while to upload, but the SAT scores are electronically submitted. How long did it take for your SAT scores to show up, if anyone remembers?

@catlas2014 Is college report required? I haven’t seen it in the required document checklist…

jk everything updated yesterday phew

Are anyone’s transcripts still not showing up? I sent both of mine in early January, but both are still on my to-do list. My HS guidance counselor is sure he sent it and I have the receipt from my college one being delivered.

I called a couple weeks ago because transcripts sent in January still weren’t showing up. The admissions office asked that we wait 2 weeks because they were processing freshman applicants first. Two weeks passed and they weren’t showing up so I called yesterday. They looked everything up and they were there, but had been received before the application so they had to be handled manually and it was taking longer. They were very nice and a short phone call eased all worries, so you may want to call and just be sure that they have them. I’m guessing they do, but they are just going through a lot of paperwork and it’s taking some time.

@jennie11 Thanks! I’ll call them tomorrow. I called and e-mailed a while back but both times I got the “it’ll take 2 weeks” response.

Can somebody chance me?

Also, does anyone know how UNC’s pre-med program is? Is it unbearably hard? And does transferring schools in undergrad look bad to medical schools?

If anyone is looking for reading material, here is last year’s transfer thread.

Last year, decisions were released on 4/9. It was the second Thursday of the month. My guess is that we will get the decisions this year between 4/11-4/14. Just a guess though.

Thanks @TranslationLost that means I won’t sleep all that week!

@TranslationLost Ahh thats so soon! Less than a month left until we hear back, best of luck to everyone!!

Time flies when I’m in school due to the constant bombardment with due dates, but this past week was spring break and it felt like each day was 72 hours!!! And based on @TranslationLost’s range of dates, I might get the decision on my birthday. Its either going to be incredible, or really crappy!
