UPenn ED Class of 2023

yea and that was released mid november, and we have nothing yet. Why do you think that is?

many reasons. student reporters could be busy from midterms or break, they may not want to release it, they may not have counted, AOs probably got more apps this year than last just judging by the trends so they’re probably rushing.

<20 days tho, freaky

It truly is crazy that we should have our decisions within the next three weeks. I wish everybody the best of luck.

@CCTA334 @bichon_frise99 Its weird… It says the post was released on Nov. 15th but if you read it it says “Questbridge decisions WERE released on December 1st”…

Anyone know how the admissions process works? like does your regional representative and the representative from the school you are applying figure out together acceptance or rejected or what

This is how Penn read the applications

any tips for virtual interviews?

if you are given the option of calling in and using your computer’s audio system, choose the former. it will be easier and less prone to errors. i have a macbook and mine didn’t work at first, which made my interviewer a little annoyed

Yeah, I applied to UPenn for nursing and it’s my top choice!!! I’m super excited to begin my nursing career where ever I may go next year (hopefully UPenn though)

I literally feel like I’m going to be so nervous during the whole day of decision releases! I don’t know how I’m going to handle it ahhhh! I just want to know already!

@casevee don’t fret too much, interviews don’t hold much (if any) weight

that being said, it’s useful to think about and write bullets of what you’ll say to the following questions:
“tell me about yourself” (essentially your mission, values, and something interesting)
“why [your academic program]?” (you wrote an essay on this)
“why Penn?” (part of previous essay)
“what’s the biggest thing you’ve accomplished”

biggest thing is to know it’s okay to not have all your answers immediately (it’s a conversation), sound human and be genuine (you applied ED for a reason, let it show)

*last note is to make sure you’re responding orally - I usually let the other person know that I’m listening through facial expressions, but you might not have that via voice call. make a conscious effort to “verbally display attention”

@bichon_frise99 @garamxmasala thank you so much!!

I’m reviewing my Penn Student Portal, and I realized that my “application major” is finance, which technically isn’t an available major at Penn. All Wharton students graduate with a BS in Economics, as well as specialized skills in various concentrations. I knew this since the beginning, of course; however, my Common App intended major is Finance, as some schools actually offer Finance as a major. I am 99% sure that this is okay, but I want to confirm that all is well.

Thanks a lot!

@derivativeslover yeah you’re chill, Wharton asks for intended concentration rather than major

@derivativeslover You’re good, admissions gets it

@bichon_frise99 Thanks. But do you think they are already done reading apps? Or is that not realistic given the time of month

I’m a bit confused - in the earlier article that was posted from the Daily Pennsylvanian, it said the date applicants would be notified of their decisions. This article was published in November. But I heard that applicants were emailed at the beginning of December with the notification date. So did they release it in November or December?

About a week prior to the announcement, They will email every one about the exact time that the decision will be released, and how you can check (on the portal). .

@BokysEdits they’re definitely not done reading. I would anticipate them going right up until decision day due to the volume of applications and the amount of analysis that goes into each decision at a school like Penn

@BokysEdits it was person interview lol. I did it at penn wharton beijing center and there were a lot of people that day
