@fmf2001 What does Cornells decision date have to do with Penn’s? Or are you saying someone said Penn’s decision date on a Cornell forum?
@BokysEdits If you read the very last paragraph in the DP article (https://www.thedp.com/article/2018/12/early-admission-decision-2018-upenn), I don’t think that there is an official release date at all.
“The decision release date has not been announced yet, but the date will be revealed sometime next week, according to Bezella.”
And the December 13th decision date that I see floating around CC and Reddit are probably from the Penn Alumni website (https://www.alumni.upenn.edu/s/1587/gid2/16/interior.aspx?sid=1587&gid=2&pgid=10295), but I think that was for last year only. So I think it’s just as likely for it to be on the 13th or the 10th or whatever mid-December date there is, unfortunately. Trust me, the wait is killing me too :((
Today I feel less worried and stressed. Parchment says DS’s Penn chances are roughly 1 in 3. The tool doesn’t take ED into account, but he’s not an athlete or a legacy, so I’m guessing these odds are fairly accurate. I was also reading a recent DP article about huge waitlists especially for CIS courses, and I realized that in this one aspect Penn is similar to any other school. And then I thought about my DS and how his future will be what it will be. And then I had an intense sweaty workout and went shopping. :)) Add up all that and my stress has pretty much vanished.
My understanding from the comment on the Cornell thread was that all Ivies would be the 10th at 7 pm
@collegeboi2023, The reason for the comment was not to make applicants feel nervous if they were not interviewed. Interviews are a source of much anxiety. My son went through a lot of stress last year when almost forty students in his graduating class had interviews for UPenn and he did not. Yes, I am proud of my son as your parents should be of all of you. As I told my son during this very stressfull process, the school you go to does not define your future success. My son was also accepted to the University of Florida, which is where I wanted him to go. If my son was a student there, I would be on the UF site as UFMOM2022.
In RD round, all Ivies release the decisions on the same date, the Ivy day. For ED, Each school may choose their own date.
Does anyone know if we will be notified about the decision release date via email or on the applicant portal? Just so I know if I need to keep refreshing the portal lol
@hsclassof2023 I think they email us to announce when they release decisions.
@jackbauer4401 im expecting them to probably email us tmrw, because questbridge students get their decsions tmrw which essentially means penn adcom is done and ready to release decisions to us on a set day.
@collegeboi2023 you mean email our decisions tmrw? that’s really early, no?
@kungfukenny I think he means that he’s expecting penn to send us an email tomorrow telling us WHEN we are going to get out decisions. I feel like we will probs get that email sometime this upcoming week, but not tomorrow.
who’s ready for penn to make history by accepting 0 ppl class of 2023 lgi
does anyone know how many kids are deferred? or if Penn defers over rejects/ rejects over defers ?
Penn rejects over defers. I believe the admit rate for deferred students during regular decision is about 11%?
I have an interview scheduled for December 4th. Is this weird? I thought the deadline for interview reports was Dec. 3rd
@ibanker38 Yes, very weird. Considering QuestBridge notifications come out tomorrow, all ED admissions decisions have likely already been made.
Questbridge applicants to Penn will be receiving their decisions tomorrow?
I’d guess that all QuestBridge decisions have been made but they’re still working on the other ED decisions. They still have at least a week left if not a bit more :).
I wonder if I can get a hard copy of my rejection letter, I want to frame all 8 of them by the end of this.
we might have to be disappointed by the college system yet again and be forced to print out the rejection email
