^ No one receives housing contracts until July…

Does every transfer student that applies for housing gets a housing contract? and if not what is the percentage of people that receive a contract? Also how are this transfer students selected?

Has anyone who recently sent in their transcripts heard yet?
Just wondering if I should expect a quick response or have to wait until mid June or something like that

My final transcript has just been produced at a 3.1 cumulative GPA. I won’t get in to the college of communication, my first choice. All I can do is wait to see if I’m accepted to COLA. I can’t stand waiting!! Does anyone know how long it took their transcript to be received? I’m transferring from St. Edward’s (right downtown) so… it shouldn’t take more than a day right? :)

@virmir Shouldn’t take more than 3 days if your in the area =D

@jenny You might have a chance if you have very impressive essays and possibly recommendations. If i got in with a 3.36, you can definitely get in too =D

It says ut received my transcript on 5/17. And the status is still ’ we need your 30 hours’ but I bet that will change soon because i currently have 38. I will post when I hear my decision. Good luck to all!

@babycakin thanks that helped big time

anyone in pre-nursing or nursing?

Is applying in August gonna look bad? I have a 3.4 and i’m going to apply for COLA. I was gonna take summer classes to raise my GPA, should i just apply with a 3.4 now?

Jennylove-

I am an accepted pre-nursing transfer for fall 2011. I have not seen any other nursing transfer students for this fall on here. In the past years on this bored, there has only been a handful that I have seen. I am really surprised because at my cc there is A LOT of students taking pre-reqs for nursing school. Good luck with the transfer process and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

UT just received my final transcript on Thursday. I will have a 3.182 transferable GPA and I applied to Undergraduate Studies first and COLA-Undeclared 2nd. I got a C in Biology and that dropped my GPA down an entire .1 point than if I would’ve gotten a B. At first I was really worried, but now I figured whatever happens is meant and there’s nothing I can do about it anymore. I’m glad I was able to wait for the 30 hours though because I was able to learn more about their admission process and change the majors I applied to 3 times through the last 4 months. At first I applied to Business and Psychology and I probably would have had zero chance now if I followed through with that.

Anyways here was my other stuff:
Extracurricular Activities: football/baseball player in high school, college baseball player freshmen year, student government, student leadership, baseball coach for local little league.
3 Recommendations: My high school math teacher/baseball coach, my college professor, and my boss.
Essays: Wrote about coaching baseball for A. Wrote about loud car stereo music for E. My 2nd essay is no where near what it should’ve been and that will lessen my chances even more.
Anything else useful: 300+ community service hours, African-American male, piano player with a youtube channel, Texas resident, First-gen college student.

I’ll let you guys know what happens with me.

About how long does it take from UT saying they received everything to when you receive the final decision? My application status currently says “We’ve received all the items needed to review your application for admission.” Got all my stuff in by the 20th.

Okay I am planning to transfer to UT in the spring semester of 2012. But I kinda have a bad past with grades. Like really bad probably like 1.0. I started all over at CC and have 3.7. I want to get into the college of liberal arts. Will they compute my GPA over all the grades or just take my recent GPA. I have started all over by taking the same classes over again to achieve a better grade. Please please please please help me!

Does anyone know how long UT takes to respond to transfer students? I got all my items in by May 20th. Does it take anywhere from a couple weeks to a month?

3.55 GPA
30+Hours
COLA

Good luck to everyone!
