UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

My application says “incomplete” and that they want me to submit my spring transcripts once the semester has completed which is around mid may. I have A’s in all 5 of my classes, but will I still have a chance of getting in? My GPA will be 3.92. I’m out of state worried that all the transfer spots will have been filled by then. Thanks.

@ItsAchilles It says this for me too. How many things does it say you need to do? I have two:

Submit your
College Transcript -UTSA
Incomplete transcript on file, official transcript needed thru Spring 2012

and

Submit your
Final official transcript by June 15
Submit your final official transcript as soon as your grades for the current semester have been posted. You transcript must arrive no later than June 15.

What does yours say? And for the people who have “under review,” are any of you applying to McCombs? Thx.

Guess I will have to call again in the morning.

I think I read somewhere around these forums (I think it was the UT Austin forum :/) that they can still accept you mid April, but only under the condition that you meet a certain GPA requirement in your spring semester. I think it will say this in your acceptance letter. If not, they can still put you in UnderGrad studies if spots are filled.
Again I could be wrong. Maybe someone can chime in…
Go ahead and call the Admissions office for any questions :)

yo everyone, i haven’t finished my 30 hours, but i’ll have 39 by the end of this semester with most likely a 3.87 from UT Arlington. first choice is chemical engineering and second is petroleum engineering. can anyone chance me? thanks and good luck to all the applicants!

I KNOW THIS IS KIND OF LONG BUT PLEASE HELP ME OUT:

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I haven’t seen it since I’ve been following the thread. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to afford to go to UT, so I’m hesitant to submit a housing application. Is there a deadline for transfers to submit the housing app? Will I be totally screwed if I wait until the summer to do it? I won’t even know if I got in until probably June because I won’t be done with my 30 credits until May. So would I still be able to get housing if I don’t even submit an app until like July? I’m talking about transferring for Fall 2012 if that wasn’t clear.

Hi y’all! My Status also changed into “Your application for admission is in review.”

I’m getting very excited haha. Does anyone know how long it might be until it gets updated with a decision?

i think you’ll be hearing back sometime in april

Hii
This is a great tread, it gives insight into some of the questions i’ve had myself.

I recently applied to UT as a transfer from a local CC and I was wondering if anyone knew
the average gpa for admission under the kinesiology major?

I will have 32 hours by the end of the spring semester with a 3.75 gpa, and I am very nervous about my chances of getting in. This has been my dream school since I could remember. So I am really hoping to get in!

AHHHH!

“You’ve been accepted for admission to English in the College of Liberal Arts for the Fall 2012 semester.”

BEST DAY EVER

Congratulation shanzy! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for good news also.

I got in as a sociology major from a california CC. They are giving me barely any aid even though i have a low EFC, so I will not be attending  haha good luck to you all!!

Thanks @jhtx05, what school did you apply to?

@youngjeezy Congrats! Out-of-state tuition is crazy though

@shanzy: Wow I’m surprised you found out so early! I assumed decisions weren’t announced until April?

Also, I realize that my application is out of my hands at this point but for the sake of making me feel better (lately I’ve been worrying incessantly about being admitted), what are my chances of acceptance?

Current university: SMU in Dallas, TX
GPA: 3.681
First/second choice majors: Pre-Public Relations (Communications), Government (Liberal Arts)
Transferable hours: 44
Activities/work (from college, not from high school): Student Filmmakers’ Association, SMU Democrats, job in the Marketing department editing videos with professional software for Meadows website

Obviously this is not my whole resume but I’m anxious to know where I stand right now! Thanks!

For those who’ve been accepted, if you could post/repost your GPA’s it would be highly appreciated :)

@shanzy

If you don’t mind, what were your stats? I am also applying to COLA for the Fall 2012 Semester.

Also did your my status account say that when you logged in one day? Or was it an email?

dannnggg you probably didnt get financial aid because you’re out of state =(

and wow that is early for a response…i suppose since cola is easier to get into they decide faster…congrats!!!

ahhh im nervous about getting into cockrell for bme

I submitted my application in January…I’ve checked my status almost everyday. Does anyone know how long it takes for Jackson school of geosciences to send out decisions?

Hello, my status is still “Complete”!? I’m an international student applying for McCombs.
GPA:4.0.
TOEFL 110+.
Credits: around 80.
Met the course requirements.
Any ideas?

@ Jeremystory

You’ll likely get in. Very likely. Just out of curiosity, why wait until you have 80 credits to come?

1) Current College: Antelope Valley College, Cerro Coso Community College (both JCs in California)
2) Current GPA: 3.697
3) Probable total GPA after Spring Semester (in May): Not attending
4) First Choice Major/College: English/COLA
5) Second Choice Major/College: Biology/Natural Sciences
6) Courses completed: 43 credits

Now I’m gonna work towards internally transferring into McComb’s
