I cannot wait!! When I saw this thread I freaked out because I thought someone had gotten their decision!
I think you’ll all find this interesting: [First Early-Action Deadline Yields 11,417 U.Va. Applicants](http://www.virginia.edu/uvatoday/newsRelease.php?id=16596) :)

love the article … but still worries me! the “expected” number of students to be admitted is at the same rate as the regular decisions :(

I’m curious if the OOS acceptance for EA will be higher than the IS since IS students tend to have lower stats.

Anyway, good luck to all! Hope to see you on Grounds next year and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Hi guys! I’m from Hong Kong and UVA is my dream. Not many people from this region apply there surprisingly! If I get into UVA I will sing on the famous outdoor podium on the first day and I don’t even like singing!

Maddyk-- I’m so sorry! But hey, it’s just a deferral! It could be worse! I know several qualified people who were deferred as well. I actually get UVa updates on my phone and I saw that article. I’m OOS (Maryland represent) so I’m hoping for the best! Yeah, as falcons said, the decision will be posted on the SIS. You guys all sound great and I SO hope to see you all on the grounds next year.

Hey everyone! My name is Steven and I am from Florida! I am dying for it to be January 31st! I am a questbridge finalist so hopefully that helps, but at this point I’ve pretty much given up on getting in through EA or RD. My gpa is a 4.1 with a 31 ACT so I’m pretty sure I have 0 chance. The only things I have going for me are vp of nhs, captain of 2 varsity sports, and (my city) student of the year. And 9 APs. So it’s all just a long-shot now. But uhhh fun fact… I’m #2 in the nation for Microsoft use and efficiency for excel 15-22 age group. Kinda lame but all I got. But I plan on doing polit. Sci or economics. Who knows at this point. I can’t even think about that until I get in somewhere, might just end up at a low tier Florida state college. But enough of my rant! I hope I get in with all of you!

I think you’re fine papereater … good luck!

Thank you! Best of luck to you too!

Good Lord Papereater, you’re really selling yourself short! You shouldn’t lose hope until you receive a definite “no” from UVA. You are a great applicant and I bet you have more of a chance than you think you do!

Does UVA reject EA or only defer?

@Falcons84 well thank you for that, I am definitely hoping for the best and I guess deep down I do see a glimmer of hope or I wouldn’t be on this thread, I just feel like the odds are stacked against me. But even if it’s not UVA I’m hoping 1 of the 9 university’s I applied to will accept me. It’s just all these College admissions seem like a toss up, people who are much less qualified than others get in for no apparent reason and then others who are well qualified get rejected. It just seems like luck at this point.

Papereater, you sound incredibly qualified! Don’t beat yourself up!
Also, for EA, UVA will accept, defer, or reject you.

Has anyone else checked the SIS lately? I still have my mid-year report on the to-do list, but it says “View Decision.” When I clicked on it, it said decisions weren’t available until 1/31, but I’m worried that they made my decision already. If their done this early, it’s probably a rejection. I’m hoping this happened to everyone, because otherwise I probably didn’t get in.

hmmm… that is quite interesting. I also see a green check mark as if my result was already determined. That’s making me a little queasy. I dont like where this is going… Who wants to ask Dean J?

I tweeted Dean J about the issue and if I end up getting a response I’ll be sure to let everyone know. If anyone else finds anything out let me know!!

Dean J addressed this on her blog. No need to be anxious. What you are seeing is perfectly normal! :)

<a href=“Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Some notes about what you see in SIS”>http://uvaapplication.blogspot.com/2011/11/some-notes-about-whast-you-see-in-sis.html

oh thank God almighty

So guys, funny story. I was sitting in class on my laptop and I checked my SIS (I probably do once a day) and I saw the “decision ready” check mark. I spent a good five minutes FREAKING out because I knew that if I looked at it and I didn’t get in I would cry but if I waited the suspense would have killed me. So I clicked on it and got that message. It was the most nerve-wracking five minutes of my life.

I just checked my son’s sis. The college transcript request is still there, which we had emailed the adm. Office to remove it since there won’t be any transcript for those summer course taken in a community college. My son didn’t receive any email about missing doc. So we assume everything would be okay Dean J? Will the transcript request be removed eventually?
We Sent this removal request to the adm. Office early Nov. Please advise.
thank you.

Hey all! Hope the wait is passing by quickly! My name is Ryan from PA, intending to major in biomedical engineering/pre-med
