@relacircle I know man. It would suck if I cross the busy street to my mailbox and find an acceptance letter only to be run over by a car because I am happily running back like an idiot.

The application deadline for the program I applied to at UW Bothell has been extended. I looked on the website and it has the previous application date of April 1, 2014 crossed out and instead says “still accepting”. I am curious if this is a bad sign? Are they not happy with the applications they received? Does anybody know why they might do this? Am I reading into it too much?
It has been nearly 2 weeks since the previous application deadline and I have not received so much as an email or a timeline of when decisions should be mailed out. I am mostly worried that this will make the wait even longer.

@ellerrad9, it’s possible they just don’t have enough applications. Even if they accept all the people that applied, right now they might not have enough people to ensure the yield they want (since not everyone accepted will attend). So it could be a good sign for you, rather than a bad one.

@Candela2 I hadn’t thought of that, but it makes sense. I hope you’re right

Hey I was reading through this thread and just thought I would let anyone know who is still waiting to hear from UW bothell that my official transcript loaded Saturday and today I received my acceptance email from them! I applied on March 1st so if you haven’t heard back yet you should soon!

@ceclynn13 Congratulations on your acceptance! Thank you for keeping us updated! What major did you apply for?

@ellerrad9 I applied for pre major!

Anyone heard back from UW for 2014 autumn admission? I’m a transfer student waiting May to come.

@amyd01 not yet. I think everyone’s still waiting.

I’ve kinda stopped stressing about it. I’m pretty sure I won’t get in this time around so I figured it’s not worth the time to stress about it.

@remymo Plus, things are kinda out of our control for the most part for the most of us; we can only wait and hope for the best.

@remymo Let’s not give up hopes yet. I’m sure most of us will get in! D: I just feel so impatient since most of other schools already accepted my friends who didn’t applied to UW. Well… fingers crossed…

Yeah, this has been a long wait. Apparently some people hear back from UW in May, but since the official time is June-July, I’d have to think it would be late May at the most optimistic. So we’re still in for another 5 weeks or so of waiting, at the very least.

Talked with admissions earlier this week. They said that the DTA is not a major factor in the review but instead, they place the biggest emphasis on having all the prerequisites down for your intended major by Autumn quarter with approximately 90 credits.

@potatomawnster … Good news for everyone… Thank you for sharing… :D

Has anybody else heard back from UW Bothell? Or from UW Seattle for that matter? My major’s site says applicants should know by “early May”, so I am becoming more and more anxious each day!

Nothing here yet unfortunately (UW Bothell). Last time I spoke to them, it had moved from the Admissions Board to the Department review, so I imagine it is getting near.

Later down the road when we usually post our stats and decisions, we should also post whether or not if we have all the prerequisites for our intended major taken before transfer; it will give future transfer students something to consider. This is because when I spoke with admissions before, they said they value preparation for intended major the most.

The response I got last week about sending future transcripts and the DTA:
“Actually, the DTA is used more to guarantee to transferability of most credits, as well as provide a curriculum that fulfill most college’s general education requirements. It is not a huge factor in our review process however. It’s most important to us to see that you are prepared for your major, and will have approximately 90 quarter credits at the time of admission. This will be based on the transcript you sent as well as your projected classes. As such, you do not need to send further transcripts unless we explicitly request them.”

Thought I’d start this thread back up since it seems like we’re getting some results in the unofficial transcript department. Like I said in another thread, I was a non-matriculated student at UW for fall 2013, so I had an unofficial transcript before I even applied to UW for the first time. For Winter 2014, I was rejected, and my unofficial transcript did not change in any way before I was rejected.

For this round of admissions, my transcript has changed. It doesn’t say “pre arts and sciences”, it still says non-matriculated. But now I have high school subjects listed, when before they never loaded. I’m not sure whether they just changed the process so that this stuff is recorded even though I wasn’t admitted, or whether it means I did get in. I think I’m the only non-matriculated transfer student who has posted unofficial transcript results on here, so it will be interesting to see what actually happens.

Candela2, I previously completed coursework at the Univ. of Washington during a summer session and have not applied prior to the Fall 2014 cycle. My unofficial transcript has not changed to include high school subjects, although it does include SAT scores that I accidentally provided before reading the associated unit ceiling (45).

Mine is still page unavailable, but man waiting the few seconds for the page to load or not sure does get your heart rate up.
