UW Winter 2014 Transfer Thread

Same here! If you call and happen to get any new info please do let us know

Hi everyone, i was rejected 2 weeks ago from the business program at UW seattle because my WSA score was less than 3. I would like to reapply for the program in the summer/fall quarter. My unofficial transcript loaded the other day and I received an email from financial aid. Is this an early indicator that I may be admitted to the school? If admitted, what would be the best course of action? Should I accept the offer from UW, take a few classes and then reapply to the program? I was also accepted into WWU for winter 2014 but UW is my first choice. Do you think i should go to WWU and then transfer to UW from there? advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Definitely go to UW. It is very difficult to transfer into UW from another 4-year institution.

I got my letter today…I was unfortunately rejected, but that’s okay, CC for a couple of quarters and I should be good for Fall next year. I was expecting a purple envelope, but it was white. Good luck to everyone still waiting :)

@candela2 Sorry you weren’t accepted this time, but it sounds like you have a good plan and I’m sure you’ll get in for Fall

I still have no letter and no unofficial transcript. I feel like the only one still waiting

I’ve been lurking this page since the start, and I’ve been relying on all of you for updates. It’s only fair that I say thank you all for your participation and well wishing each other, reading all of your kind and patient (and at times understandably not so patient) responses have made the wait a much more tolerable, and less lonely, experience. I want to extend my best wishes to Candela - I was really rooting for you to get in because I admire so much your kindness and perseverance. Life has other plans for you now, and enjoy those as much as you’d enjoy this university.

Ellerrad, you’re not the only one. I’m still waiting for something, and I’m sure we’re accompanied by a large population of people as restless and tired of this game as us. We’re almost there. :)

Best of luck to everyone!

@blueyellowhello, Thanks for the well wishes. I’m glad someone found my contributions helpful over this time :)

Congratulations to everyone that got in, and to those who didn’t, I might see some of you in the thread for Fall transfer students…I’ll definitely be there!

You are absolutely right. I am trying to be patient, which is not something I’m usually very good at. There must be quite a few of us left in the dark still. I’m going out of town for Thanksgiving and I will try to enjoy myself and not obsess about my mailbox while I’m gone. For me, the wait continues until at least Saturday.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

My transcript loaded today, and I got the financial aid email. I’m not believing anything until I get the letter in the mail telling me one way or another.

I called admissions today, pretty much useless. She said they don’t do individual status reports. They just repeated to me that the notification period is between this month and December. So I asked I could find out as late as the end of December, and all she said is yes. She seemed really annoyed and was rude when I asked.

Let the waiting continue…

I went to the financial aid office to submit some paperwork that they requested of me. I said to the lady that I wasn’t sure why I needed to submit financial aid forms when on the GI Bill already, and more importantly hadn’t received a letter of acceptance or rejection yet. Her response was that the school wouldn’t request the info if I wasn’t accepted. She looked up my student ID number and confirmed this for me.

Basically, if your transcript will load and you start getting financial aid emails, you’re accepted at LEAST to the University. I can’t speak on individual schools within UW because I’m an anthropology major and it’s an open program.

I too am an Anthropology major and we actually have to declare our major at advising and orientation. What’s kind of a bummer is there really isn’t a lot of Anthropology classes with open seats left. My orientation is the tenth, so I am hoping they set aside some places for incoming students, but we shall see.

UGH still haven’t gotten anything in the mail, transcript hasn’t loaded or anything… But I applied to Seattle and bothell and the bothell campus told me that the school is switching to a new computer system so some peoples transcripts are loading by mistake…so im confused now… ugh

wish if they knew they were gonna deny people already…that they would send those letters out already

Thought I’d let everyone know… I was sadly rejected. I got my letter and it was postmarked the 11/27. My transcript never loaded and I’m honestly pretty surprised due to the fact I have an AA from a WA CC. Good luck to all that are still waiting, I wish you all the best.

I got a rejection letter today, but it came with an offer for night school (not sure if it’s standard or not) and honestly, I’m surprised no one told me about the night program before. I’m not a morning person, I’m most productive at night, and it leaves my day free for work. I guess, mission accomplished.

I was not accepted either. I also have an AS from an instate CC. Good luck to everybody still waiting.

Hi everybody! I was kind of reading all through the each post. I feel happy for those who got admitted and wish the best luck for who are sadly rejected but life is FAIR to everyone and there will be one day you feel lucky you choose another path towards your own success; and also I prey to those who will give a try for fall quarter like me. I will be honestly, I shed tears after reading all your polls and I could even imagine each of you before opening those envelope or clicking the mouse. I was kind of nervous about the nervous but after reading through the post, I become stronger. Thank you guys, salute

Although I have yet to complete my application, I did not see any specific area where I am supposed to state extra-curricular’s. Is that just supposed to be included in the personal statement?

This is for Fall transfer but I was wondering if someone can help me out!

Thank you!
