Got in from WA state, CAS
@abignerd I was admitted to Peabody today. I sent 3 emails after being waitlisted to my regional admissions officer (each about 1-2 weeks apart). Each email addressed a specific aspect of my profile and how it would contribute to Vanderbilt’s community (I included pics that were relevant, not sure if that helped). Each email included new information/accomplishments & I visited campus after being waitlisted to try to show more interest. Mostly, I prayed a hell of a hot & just got plain lucky!! Good luck to everybody on the waitlist- i know this process is so brutal
Well I guess its on to the second wave now. Probably coming out monday, yeah?
@Bostonmom8 @abignerd Same thing for me… hope it means what we all want!
Also, congrats to all the users/readers on here who were offered a spot today.
@abignerd did one LOCI soon after waitlisted, informing my adcom of like research awards and some national competitions i was going to later in the month, and then another one around April 25th regarding the results of aforementioned competitions.
I’m from the Bay Area. Got full financial aid
@abignerd to be honest I just kept replying to their emails and I was pretty lazy about letter of continued interest. I waited until April 29 to sent one to my Admissions counselor but he replied really quickly. I’m not sure if it made a difference since it was so late but that’s all I did
Congratulations to those who got in!
congrats to those who got in! my friend is waiting on vanderbilt and I was wondering what ur guys stats were?
hey guys! I got in yesterday off the waitlist, but I turned it down to go to Johns Hopkins instead. Don’t lose faith! There is at least one more spot out there coming in the next wave!
Stats:
ACT 35
GPA unweighted 4.0
weighted 4.52
@9waitlists Thank you so much, and best luck at Johns Hopkins!
Does missing the first wave mean little chance left? Also, any idea how many students are wait-listed?
does anyone know when they stopped giving out waitlist notifications last year?
@nervouswreckk early july
Would you guys reccomend sending anything, possibly a new letter of rec, after this first wave? Or would it be best to just sit back and wait.
Oops, I’m kinda late. But I too got accepted on May 4, from TN. Anchor Down!! Also, good luck to everybody who reads this
Also, my stats were:
30 ACT
3.9 GPA unweighted
Tons of EC’s, including a part-time job.
I’m also a minority, if that means anything.
I think Monday is too early for the next wave. Accepting a spot from the waitlist is a two step process that can take up to five days. In last year’s thread the waves came on May 2, 8, and 16. After that the thread was pretty quiet until someone posted at the end of June that they were accepted. I suspect that there were others in between but there’s probably less each wave, and so less folks on this forum. Each college will have it’s own number of spots to fill. I wouldn’t expect anything before Wednesday this week.
@Choski94 You’re right. They say that you have 2 days to accept the offer and then 3 to commit, so that would mean that the earliest the second wave could be released would be Wed./Thurs. … I wonder what percentage of the waitlist spots are taken by the first wave? Anyone have an idea?
my friend got into vanderbilt! she got into peabody with
SAT : 1410 superscored
Weighted GPA: 4.49
Unweighted GPA: 3.9
she sent a really lengthy letter of continued interest a couple of weeks ago
she’s also caucasian
