Okay thank you very much, all that sounds good.

And I applied ED heard back mid to late December.

Has anyone checked their VIP accounts recently? Does the same message about “Student Has Ineligible Admissions Status” still appear? My son’s VIP still has it - I thought something would have changed by now since the letters are going out next week…I hope it’s not a bad sign

smrsson - Yep…still the same message for us too! Anyone else?

Just checked - same message! :(

Karen

I guess we continue to keep our fingers crossed…good luck to you guys! Hopefully we will all hear good news soon :)

I have been quietly following this thread, holding my breath as we all wait! Thanks for the info about VIP it gave me something to do! But like the rest of you the message is still the same. Well at least we are in this boat together and we WILL know something soon.

Best wishes for good news!

amandabethmom - Does your VIP say the same thing?

Yes- when I go the financial link for deposit I get the “error msg - ineligible student status”. Looking forward to knowing one way or the other at this point!

I copied and pasted it…this is what it says…

ERROR:
MSG26: STUDENT HAS INELIGIBLE ADMISSIONS STATUS

Is that what yours says? Just curious if there are different error messages…

That is exactly what my son’s says also…I guess we can do is keep checking - :(

Keeping our fingers crossed here! Best of luck to all!

What are his other choices?

Yes- that’s the msg USC2015…exactly.

His other choices are Univ of Tennessee, Univ of Alabama, Penn State Altoona (didn’t get into UP so would have to go to Altoona for 2 years then transfer), still waiting to hear back from Florida State Univ but that is a long shot - we are OOS and his SAT weren’t great and he didn’t apply priority deadline just regular. He loved USC so this is his first choice so this waiting is a killer :(

My S is currently at Junior at USC…The “STUDENT HAS INELIGIBLE ADMISSIONS STATUS” appears because your student has not yet received their acceptance therefore the system will not allow a non-admitted student to make an enrollment deposit. Once the acceptance is in the system the enrollment deposit will be allowed as well as the housing section to submit the necessary info there.

Even current students for example cannot make payments for next semester right now because their updated course registrations, financial aid etc have not posted to the system yet. This prevents a lot of unnecessary work for the bursars office in being sent payments that they may need to then turn around and send back if a new student isn’t admitted or a current student should need to withdraw before next semester course registration begins.

The VIP system once you have been accepted and begin using it is actually a very simple system and provides more information and far more functionality then my Daughters college does.

Good luck to all who are still waiting!

My daughter left this morning on her senior class trip to Disney World so hopefully she will put this out of her mind for a few days. I really don’t know who is having a harder time with it - me or her! LOL!!!

Karen

It seems to me the VIP status would have to be changed by the undergraduate admissions office prior to them sending out the acceptance letters so that the student, upon receipt of their acceptance in the mail, would be able to immediately go into VIP and pay their enrollment deposit.

So…do you think they change the admissions status in VIP as soon as they make the acceptance decision or do they change it the day the letter goes into the mail? I believe all of the decisions have been made by now.

Thoughts?

I’m sure it will be changed by the day the letters go out - maybe the system automatically updates the VIP accounts on a certain date that is programmed by the admissions office. I guess we have to just keep wondering … and waiting…I will keep checking my son’s and post if anything changes…good luck to all of you and hopefully we hear some good news soon!!!

I saw on Twitter that 6,000 decision letters are being mailed out today! Best of luck to everyone!

I’m so glad to hear that they were sent out but now I will be on edge until we find out one way or the other! Good luck everyone!

Karen

Anyone able to register for orientation? We keep getting error message trying to do so via VIP!
