Wait-list, any news?

LOL. Thanks for clearing that one up for us peachjelly.

When I read that article after it was posted I thought that it was all up. I am waiting to hear from CALS, good to know its not over yet.

oops...sorry!

At today's info session for students offered a GT to CALS...the person running the session indicated that CALS is probably not going to the wait list this year.

dewdrop, do you know if any particular programs in CALS (perhaps AEM, which I applied to) will certainly not be going as of now to the waitlist?

Hey Barq: no specific programs were mentioned

thanks for the info

@dewdrop87,

Do you know who was that person who said so?

I have a fairly significant update with my ECs that I want Cornell to know about. Should I send it as an email or as a letter?

In short, use an e-mail.
Say they decide to go to the waitlist on wednesday. Processing, the e-mail takes them at most 2 or 3 days to update your file.

The letter takes 3 days receiving + processing time.
E-mail, scan, etc. Fastest route possible.

Thanks for your reply. Who should I send the email to? (I'm in CAS btw)

it was the associate director of admissions for CALS

@dewdrop87,

Okay. Thanks.

It was May 8 when I got a call from the associate dean of admissions that I received a spot in the class from the wait list. It was the best feeling ever when I got in. Yet there is still some figuring out left to do.

Anyone who still has hope, get a new and very impressive teacher rec, send a letter of intent, and hopefully documentation of any scholarships or awards. It got me in!

What college?

lol i didn't think anybody looked at this this late. Hotel. yep. its amazing I picked the right one

Congrats! And CC'ers are up all hours sometimes lol.

Thank you. And isn't life just terrible. One moment something wonderful happens, but its always tied to another. Happy-Cornell, $$$-panic

If we haven't received a response and the week of May 26 is over...are we supposed to assume rejection?

While it's probably not good that you haven't heard anything by now, you are not officially rejected until you receive a letter.

I just got the email. It reads:

"Thank you for your continued interest in Cornell University. Since you've confirmed your place on our waiting list, I am writing to provide you with another update.

To date, we have made offers of admission from the waiting list for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the School of Hotel Administration. We will conduct another assessment of the wait list in mid-June to finalize our wait list plans for the year. Please note that we will notify waiting list candidates of their status as soon as it is clear that additional offers can be made or that no space is available."

So I guess it's not over until they say it is, which could mean beginning of August.
