late june. Dangggg.

good things come to those who wait

lol so true. to whoever said earlier that they wrote a poem as their letter, don't worry. I sent a normal this-is-why-i-really-want-to-go-here letter...and then I sent a play that I wrote while extremely bored in bio about how I want to get in off the waitlist. It's really funny, I've got my bio class acting as a chorus that randomly bursts into song about waitlist-woes to the tune of such well-known classics as the Friends theme song. You better not copy me though! poseurs! lol.

I'm thinking it's about time for a new letter...hmm...what can I say that I haven't already said?!?!

Don't forget to send in something that states what you have to offer the school community, not just what Columbia has to offer you.

Does anyone know how many, if any, students Columbia will be taking off of its waitlist this year?

I think it depends on how many open slots there are after people make their decisions early May

It's been about 40 last two years I think. Let's hope for more than that and that most people don't stay on the waitlist.

does anyone have the links to last years waitlist forum for columbia ?

u mean on CC? cuz i don't think they have them made by the school...

for some reason, i can't post the link, but go to

www.collegeconfidential.com/discus

Go to "Message Search" on your left.
Narrow it down to "Ivy League Schools"
And search "Columbia waitlist" -- it's the first match.

How do u find out ur regional admissions advisor?

So one day left until they could start making decisions. Anybody else ready to know where they are going next year?

i could definitely use some relief from this anxiety. i imagine we'll know soon enough. though from the looks of it, the bulk of acceptances last year were made more like ten days or so from now...

i heard they make the decisions next week....

Most likely, since they did also have transfer admissions to worry about too, so they had to give themselves a break. Although it isn't too hard to pick the 40 (or however many) they need. If they are running low on time they can just draw from a hat. Afterall, we are all great students and you don't get waitlisted for no reason.

ick. but don't they sometimes notify even up to July? Think about it...people saying Yes to Columbia may also be on waitlists elsewhere, and when they get off those waitlists, they'll forfeit Columbia deposits, forcing CU to accept the next person off the waitlist...it's ongoing, I thought
