UCLAri, upwards trend from 3.0 (sophomore year) to 3.7 (junior year)
Both years involved a solid-rigorous schedule.
What would my chances be in terms of percentage? (i.e - 50/50, 60/40, etc)

thanks

I've been moving annually (so 4 high schools) because my dad's in the military, which is why I have so few AP courses and EC.

Kind of stupid question. If UCLA is a "slight reach," then there's still some hope right?

I'm hoping that they'll see that it really is my first choice which is why I did the summer program there/took a course.

Zimmee32 - I would assume so. Slight reach means the schools is still within your acceptance boundary. Basically, when you're slight reach, I believe it all boils down to your essay and your E.C's.

Okay, I should define my terms...

Imagine a bell curve. The x is the mean admit (the average person who gets in.) Less than one standard deviation to the left and right is "match. That means that you are basically the average admit. More than one standard deviation to the left, and you are a "slight reach." That means that you are just slightly below trend. One to the right, and you are a "safe match." That means you are slightly above trend.

That's all it means. I don't give percentages because I believe that they are disingenuous when you take into account all the factors that go into admission.

Do you have a weighted GPA? Regardless, that's a pretty strong application you have there, and even though your SATs are on the low side, UCLA seems like a match.

uh.. ill maybe 4.3 but i took as many challenging classes as my schedule allowed for and that were offered, so yeah. still challenged curriculum.
