The last batch of decision letters for students who auditioned for the Acting, Directing, or Musical Theatre major at Webster were mailed today (4/2).

Also, the luggage take is indeed only related to academic acceptance, not theatre acceptance. The timing of when it arrives is purely coincidental.

Just to clear things up, there were batches sent out Friday 3/28, Monday 3/31 AND today 4/2? Were they organized and sent by whether they're rejections or not?

That's correct. Letters were sent out over several days, with the last group being mailed today. They were not organized in any particular way - it simply took that long to get the letters generated an mailed.

arghh. No Webster mail today... The suspense continues (this is the last decision my daughter's waiting on). They should make a musical about this whole crazy process. With a cast of 10,000 so that all our kids get a part.

At this point, decision letters for design/tech applicants are going out on a rolling basis. Once a student has completed their interview, and provided they are academically accepted, they should be notified of their status within about two weeks.

Nothing in the mail today. Repster411-2 weeks from now??!!! My son was admitted academically back in November and presented his portfolio at Unifieds early Feb. He was told during that interview he would hear by April 1. This is the last school he is waiting to hear results from.

Also didn't get anything in the mail today. I'm leaving tomorrow for California before the mail comes, so I won't be able to check my mail for a week and a day :(

I wish they could tell me over the phone or via email

We received our letter yesterday and it was dated 4-1-08. Apparently it took 3 days to get from St Louie to Chi town. They must use pony express :)

So in the mailbox today was a letter size envelope from Webster. I thought to myself, ok well at least the torture is over. Opened it up and it was a letter from the financial aid office! Dang! Still in limbo! Don't know whether to be mad or happy! :-)

D is in school thankfully doing a show, which is keeping her mind on other things. Me... I'm heading over there with my home baked cookies to sell in the lobby.

JudyL -
Any luck today (4/5)? If not, call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on Monday and tell them you want to verify that a decision has been sent out for your son. Ask to talk to Carrie or Valerie.

My friend, who lives in So. Calif.,called yesterday and was told her D's letter was mailed on Tuesday and she still didn't receive it today (Saturday). Yep, pony express, I guess.

Well, that's that. The decision is a thanks but no thanks.

I feel so bad for my D. She was very sick for all her auditions and she knew her voice wasn't strong and that she didn't have that usual spark that makes you stand out. She had to replace her legit soprano song with a lower ballad and it wasn't contrasting enough with her uptempo. After so many years of working hard to have it come down to getting the flu, asthma and bronchittis during those precious weeks of auditions was frustrating. Unfortunately we didn't have the funds to reschedule and fly to the campuses for later dates. It was the LA unifieds or bust for us. :-( Let that be a warning to future participants. Really spread out your auditions so that all your dates aren't in the danger flu season if possible.

Oh well, at least we had a wonderful night in the theatre tonight. Closing night of "Grapes of Wrath" and D was Ma Joad.

Tomorrow we'll re group and help her figure out what's next.

Thanks everyone for your support.

and congrats to all who received acceptances!

Sarasmom - I'm sorry to hear your daughter's news. You have such a great attitude and I'm sure that will be a big help to her. Good luck to your daughter and your family as she decides what to do next year. Keep us posted.

Anyone know how many auditioned for Webster when it was all said and done? Besides the school, and Chi Unifieds where else did they hold auditions? I heard LA and NY is that correct?
