What are some of the best things about Florida State University?

Gotta love the ignore list. Just added gfg. P2N, I am just praying for a certain day in Nov…

p2n, yeah, yeah… we’ll get another crack at 'em in Dec. ;)

Oooh, good one! :)

Seems the only “crack” likely to be heard will be the sound the Gators hear when 'Bama lays the wood upside their head - again.

Ouch. :)

Bump.

I want to hear some more of these good things.

The campus is gorgeous.
Old buildings have often been made new again, preserving what made them special in the first place.
The campus is large but compact.
The food is not so bad. Some say the food is good. Fresh Foods is a favorite, although the atmosphere/architecture at Suwanee is pure Hogwarts.
Parking is not as bad as other large state U’s, with a fair number of newer parking garages.
Certain departments are without a rival in the state, and in the region.
Student government manages millions of dollars generated by student fees, and students themselves really make all the decisions.
The level of healthcare at Thagaard is excellent.
The Seminole Express transit system is quite good, and serves both campus and apartment complexes surrounding campus.
The Night Nole is popular, and safe.
The FSU ID allows for free use of the entire Star Metro system, Tallahassee’s city bus service.
President Barron is going to take academics to new heights.
Coach Fisher is going to do the same with football, without the prior academic “issues” that have been a problem recently.

And the tide is turning. The GAYTORS HAVE LOST TWO IN A ROW.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Sunnyflorida, can you elaborate a little more about the great departments/programs at FSU? How does Biology and Chemistry fair up against other schools?

Well, the Doak was full for the game Saturday. It was a messy game, but the defense was epic. And in the end it was another W.
Looking around, I would guess that 90% of the stadium stayed until the LAST SECOND. I sat in the student section again. Even the students came early and stayed late.

goufgators, the Seminoles have not had it easy of late, BUT I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD THE STADIUM BOO THE TEAM OFF ITS OWN FIELD BEFORE HALFTIME. Yet that is exactly what happened at the swamp on Saturday. Sad. Fans have been boo’ing loudly now at home for the past two weeks. And reporters have been calling them out about it.

Some ranking from the FSU website: [FSU Highlights](Rankings | Florida State University)

I read that gator fans are also booing their own Coach Addazion for play calls, even after a touch down. If that’s not classy enough, subsequent to their losses; Meyer reinstates Chris Rainey - obviously losing a game is the only violation of the gator organization’s core values.

Gator desperation. So what’s next? A review of whether Tebow accumulated enough credits to graduate? ;)

What I found most appealing at FSU was…:
The People

 • Theres something about FSU students that is different about all else. Although there are a lot of snobs, every one (this is relative to how normal you are :p) will treat you like the FSU family.
 • The campus is what you might think of a University campus at the age of 10. It is warm and cozy :O. Compared to UF, our campus is amazing, as everything is within walking distance (unless you are in Anthropology or Engineering), and just like I said before, the students contribute to a more lively atmosphere.
• You will realize that we have a whole lot of ex-gators, that fell in love with our atmosphere and decided to quit the life of being a dick. :)

The one thing that truly is bad about FSU is the parking. Although we have 4 (or 5) huge parking garages around campus, a lot of " freshmen," decide to live in the dorms and bring their cars. The result: They leave their cars overnight during the whole semester. The situation got even worse that they closed down 2 student parking lots and made it into faculty parking lot (has a gate).

Besides that, walking doesn’t hurt :)

I am sure you will love it here!

Parking at FSU:

Good news: Looks like FSU will be getting a new garage in a couple of years.

Bad news: Students will have to help pay for it, even if they don’t have a car.

well it seems im the first to add to this since we had smoked gator on thanksgiving at doak, which was awesome. doak was so loud that my ears were ringing all night.

the only bad thing i can think of is parking which is terrible, but not if you choose to go off campus and return at the right time.

the campus is amazing, and well planned out. the change of seasons is a plus, especially since i’m from south florida.

ugh i wrote other stuff but it didn’t all copy and im not doing it again haha

Parking is bad on every big statue university… but parking has gotten better in the last few years.

How do the native Floridians feel about students who are from out of state?

Floridians hate all other states! haha kidding but Degraff was my 1st choice and I heard they have their own parking lot/garage since im bringing my car? true or false

I know a lot of people here that are from out of state and they love it here also.
Other good things about FSU:
free movies at the SLC
great concerts at Club Downunder
getting thrown into the Westcott fountain on your birthday
everything is walking distance
a really awesome gym
Market Wednesday
First Friday
Paint-a-Pot
4 Starbucks
everyone holds doors open
every morning at Suwannee, you get reminded that you’re loved
beautiful brick buildings
droopy trees
Jim Morrison

One thing I miss about living on the East Side of campus and going to Suwannee for lunch everyday: Mrs. Killings never failing to tell me “Thank you, and I love you”

Nice video of a nice lady…Mrs. Killings>> <a href=“Mrs. Killings - YouTube”>Mrs. Killings - YouTube;
