Perhaps the comments (delivered not delivered) support the idea that the packages went out in more than one mailing…perhaps even being mailed at different times of day on 3/22 resulted in the packages to some parts of LA and socal arriving earlier than others. So perhaps we are indeed looking at multiple mailings in a short timeframe resulting in variable delivery (even to the same household).

THIS WAIT IS JUST HORRIBLE!
la county and haven’t received anything today… bad sign? D: UGH I’M PRAYING WITH MY WHOLE LIFE

if i got in to ucsd, do i have a good chance at USC?!

DD received her acceptance today! We’re in the Pasadena area (L.A. suburb).

@smellyolive

one of my friend received a rejection letter today so i don’t think not getting anything today means anything.

I’m up in norcal/bay area and last name starts with a B. Nothing in the mail :(

To see if there is any pattern to which majors/schools have sent admissions out and where in the country the admissions packets are arriving, please check out the Admissions thread below and post your info–not stats, but where you live, date you receive mail and major.

Thanks.

Applied from NY. Any estimates when an acceptance package would arrive?

Acceptance in Socal!

Good luck to all the applicants in the Bay Area!

Let me just say that I have some experience in shipping. It is very likely that everything was mailed at once. The mail goes onto conveyors and is sorted and put into bins. The particular ‘bin’ that your envelope is in might not make it onto the truck that begins its journey and could wind up on the next truck. I know that there were times that we would have a customer with multiple packages in one shipment that would arrive on 2 different days all because one pkg didn’t make it onto the truck. With the vast amount of pkgs being shipped out it is quite possible that next door neighbors receive their pkgs a day apart. Please don’t fret! Good luck to all. We are waiting over here in upstate NY!!

Perhaps Friday - likely Saturday. However, rejections take longer to received based on USC’s use of first class mail for letter rejections…and (larger - 13 ounce) envelope Priority USPS mail for acceptances. Priority mail reaches US destinations in 2-3 days…1st class can take up to 8 days. We are not certain whether USC stuck to 1st class mail for rejections this year as they have in the past

D Accepted today! In Socal!

I live in SoCal (LA county) and received nothing today. I don’t think this is a good sign of things to come…

I would say to everyone that with 36,000 freshman apps, that one single post office could not handle all of that mail in one day PLUS all of their other customers mail, so I am thinking multiple mailings throughout a couple of days! My two cents from Texas!

^ I would feel that a big city such as LA is more than prepared to deal with 36,000 letters.

Hopefully they were all sent already, I’m leaving on Sunday so the latest I’d be able to get my package is Saturday…

Just making sure: there won’t be a financial aid package for a while, correct?

No mail for us today in AZ.

Still nothing from the South Bay. =/

No fin aid award info in my packet :)

Was the acceptance rate really 8% this year?
