Who is going to Santa Barbara, mostly for sure? Tell a little about yourself!

Yay! Cynstoletheworld and taylorholland, I know we are going to have so much fun! Do you guys know what classes you are taking at FSSP?

To taylorholland: I think you are going to do just fine at UCSB! I know someone who goes there and they told me even if you don’t party you will have an amazing time! Although I’ve been in the party environment a lot (my friends party) I can’t say that I myself am a party girl. It doesn’t bug me, but I’ve just been too busy in high school to party  and I’m not really sure its my scene! I look forward to a few nights in the IV enjoying the college atmosphere! Wow! 44 units! I’m trying to graduate in three years too! UCSB should be fun and kind of relaxing compared to the stress of high school.

I’ll be taking mythology and writing 2. Maybe that seminar on engineering, because up until my sophomore year I wanted to go into EE. Another seminar or two to fill out my course load. Nothing too crazy, I want to relax for the most part.

What about you?

Awesome! I’m taking Intro to International Relations and I’m emailing them to see if I can take Spanish 25. And then there is the mandatory seminar (which I think will be pretty cool since all the FSSP kids have it together). I want to relax too. We are going to be in beautiful Santa Batbara for the summer so we have to relax a little bit. :)

haha, i won’t be relaxing at all!! i’m taking FULL advantage of the summer program with 13 units, i’m taking intro to cinema, intro to psych, and making of modern world (plus that one mandatory one).
doesn’t look like have any classes together except the mandatory one :-[[

Well, I just got around to sending my course selection thing off. I ended up picking Philosophy 1, the seminar, and European Comparative Lit. My alternates are Philosophy 4, Intro to CompSci, and Psychology. I was going to take film but it would not have worked with Philosophy.

So, my schedule was not really what I anticipated, but that’s okay. I’m really excited. I’m only taking stuff I’m good at, so I’m anticipating a really easy summer. Anyone else in the same classes?

Hi everyone! I’m Michele. I’m about 5’5, white, blonde, and from the san francisco bay area (not sf, but a small suburb). I chose ucsb because i didn’t get into my first choices, which were Berkeley, Davis, and San Diego, and i preferred Santa Barbara to Irvine, which i did get into. i’m going to be a psychology major.

I’ve been a pretty good student in high school, taking ap courses and getting pretty good grades (although not good enough, apparently :P), so I’m pretty focused on school, but it would be a lie to say that i don’t party  i’m definitely looking forward to parties in Isla Vista and the dorms and meeting new people. One of the best things i’ve heard about ucsb is that there are opportunities for studying and partying, and i like to have a balance. There are actually a lot of people from my high school going to ucsb, including one of my best friends, but I hope to meet a lot of new ones, too.

Besides hanging out with friends and partying, i like to read, watch movies, golf, exercise (when i’m in the mood), listen to music (mostly alternative rock and indie), and work on my tan :stuck_out_tongue: I read about someone earlier who said they like to play poker. I used to play with a group of friends but we quit a while ago, so i’m pretty out of practice, but if you’re ever interested, i might be up for it.

I think i’ll join the facebook group for students going to ucsb, and if anyone wants to chat on facebook, just pm me  I think i’m also going to do the freshman summer start program, so if anyone else on here is going to do it also, pm me and we can talk!

No one at my school is going to UCSB. >< I’m so nervous!
My name is Sarah, I’m 18, 5’ 5" and a little chunky. I’m majoring in English because I <3 writing and would love to become a professor someday. Also, I think I’m going to minor in Sociology, French Language, Music Theory, Anthropology…and other stuff, but probably two at the most. I’m outgoing, goofy, and incredibly geeky and have a sweet and terrible passion for video games, anime, and music. I’m learning to play the violin, but I already know how to play trumpet, trombone, piano, and french horn. ^^
I’m so excited that I get to go to school with all these other interesting people! ^___^

My name is David and I am from the East Bay. I am 6’2 and I love sports. It’s what keeps me alive basically. I am going to be majoring in Economics but I think I want to change it to Business Economics with an emphasis in accounting. Hmm… what else. I love the beach atmosphere… the warm weather is nice. Walking around with flip flops and cutoffs is my style haha. I’ll be in the party scene somewhat, but I’ll make sure to get my work done first. I’ll see you guys there in the fall '09. GAUCHOS!!

Woooooooo

Well, I posted in this thread earlier, but since then, I’ve been facing some uncertainties about whether or not this spring semester would seriously cause me to be rescinded. BUT, I just received confirmation that I will, in fact, not be rescinded! Woohoo! :D

For anyone who’s curious, basically, last semester, I failed two classes (I was still admitted to UCSB despite failing these two classes). But this semester, I failed the same two classes AGAIN (yeah, pathetic, I know -_-"). But since these classes were repeats, they won’t be counted as part of my GPA, which means that despite getting two F’s this semester, my other A’s means I’ll still have a 4.0 for this semester! :D

Also, one of these classes is a major prerequisite (calculus), but since my overall GPA is strong, I’m not required to have completed it by this spring! :D

I am a happy man! :)

I suppose I don’t need to reintroduce myself, since I already posted here, but I thought I might as well share the news. :)

huge sigh of relief

^^^ YAY! thats wonderful

congrats yawn! Glad to hear that buddy :)

Hello, i’m 5’8 Korean… bio major :)

Zombie thread? Maybe start a new one? I think this was started after results were out – five years ago…

Holy necro-post batman!

I’m Matt!! I will most definitely be going to UCSB if I don’t get into Cal, LA, USC, or Emory(Which are all kind of reaches for me). I’m psyched to have SB as an option. Definitely will be rushing ;)

I’m a 6’1 Jew who will be doing Global Studies/International Business :D

whoops! dead thread…

lol dead thread
