Who's applying for Spring transfer 09'-Cornell

To tell you the truth. I think you have a better chance than a person with my stats.

Firstly, I'm Canadian. Secondly, I didn't take the SATs and my High School GPA wasn't so bright. Thirdly, if it makes a difference, I read my essays more than once and I found a handful of mistakes.

Don't worry, you should hear soon.

:)

Still haven't heard anything yet.

mhawky and stm Congrats!!! Celebrate!!
When did the online self serve change? Thoought it changes at fivepm? When did you check? No phone call?
I hope that doesnt mean" in" hears first?

Thanks Brooklyngirl. :)

As soon as I came back from class today (around 12 PM), I went to check it and that is when I found out. It must have changed some time in the morning, which seemed much earlier than I expected. I still have not received a phone call yet, but I am not too worried about it. I already know the decision :P. And while I was typing this my mom just handed me a large, thick envelope from Cornell!

I hope I get in...

I am really starting to feel very stressed out the longer it goes (especially now that decisions are going out and two on here have gotten into ILR). I have schoolwork I need to be doing, but I can hardly focus right now. It will suck if I have to wait through the weekend, but it would be pretty cool if I got good news monday since it is my birthday, but would be the worst bday ever if I got rejected on that day.

rejected, is it wrong to call and ask why?

I called ILR today to confirm my acceptance before I go turning down my other offers. The transfer counselor is sick today and said he was upset he couldn't call people, so not getting a phone call today wasn't any sign of something for those of you still waiting on ILR. My self service thing changed sometime before 9:30 AM, I was also surprised since I thought it only changed once in the evening.

Illusion, if I got rejected I was going to ask the transfer counselor if he was able to tell me the weak points of my application. I would if I were you, what is there to lose?

I agree, I would probably do the same thing because it could help me with applications for next fall if he would disclose the reasons. Hopefully I don't need to though.

Hermanns, have you been in contact with the transfer counselor (Ian) at all since applying, besides the interview?

hermanns you were rejected to ILR? IllusionBmore what school did you apply to?

I havent heard anything.

just curious mhawkjr what are you stats ex gpa in hs SAT's. average? What about you Hermann? I have about 3.6 last year as a freshman and the same going in this year. About 1300 SATs, 90 average in hS/. About 4 e curricular in college.. RHA, etc.. What about you guys? Think we should check this PM or tomorrow AM?

I applied to CAS. I have a 4.0 at UMD and still got rejected. So, its a crap shoot.

Do you think we can appeal if we got rejected?

stm-pm sent.

Brooklyngirl, I did not get rejected, I am still waiting too. I have a 3.93 and am pretty comfortably carrying all A's right now. (I got screwed by taking a B for a credit by examination that I thought would be easy to skip a computer course, otherwise I would have 3.99). Did not take SAT's but they weren't needed for ILR. Had 3.2/3.6 in HS, but very substantial increase senior year (~4.6w, ~3.9uw) after I finally started trying. I was '07, but will have 77creds after this semester (65 now), so hopefully I will be evulated like a junior transfer. Completed every class ILR requests (both english and econs, plus those other three-science, history, and cultural perspectives). Working a ton of hours between jobs and EC's this semester. Best of luck to everyone else that hasn't heard yet.

Brooklyn, I don't think I ever told you the name.. but my stat teacher's last name was Turner. Hopefully you wont need to know that though and i will see you at Cornell in the spring.

Ilusion you had a 4.0 at UMD for three semesters?!!! ARe you still there. Worse places to be I guess.

I seriously do think the whole process was a crapshoot. I wasn't expecting to get in. I thought I would be straight out rejected(especially because of my sub-par high school stats). I guess they either liked my essays or my evaluations were pretty good.

zakaqel, you must be kidding....You have a 4.0 in college, your major is Honors Chem, you do research in molecular genetics, and your profs send you letters thanking you for your presence in their class and tell you you're the best student they've had in 30 years! that's impressive...don't downgrade yourself

oh btw I don't stalk zakaqel, he just PM'd me his stats recently lol

Hello everyone. AEM applicant, haven't heard anything yet.
