Guys,

I have a 2.6 gpa and a 1160 on my SAT scores, what are the chances of me getting in. Compared to everyone else, my gpa sucks…SMH.
and the worst part is,…I JUST APPLIED.

Guys,

I have a 2.6 gpa and a 1160 on my SAT scores, what are the chances of me getting in. Compared to everyone else, my gpa sucks…SMH.
and the worst part is,…I JUST APPLIED.

I applied in October and FINALLY found out I was accepted in the beginning of March! I was not pleased at all with UCF. Whenever I called the admissions office to ask questions they gave me an attitude. I didn’t understand why it took them so long to make a final decision. I probably won’t be attending UCF though, UF also accepted me and I believe that’s where I’ll be attending in the fall (:

Congrats! What are your stats?

Congrats Estelle! and yeah, same question as Mayday.

If you truly don’t want to go, make sure to let UCF know ASAP so they can get back to the rest of us :D

@ Ari, did you apply for fall or summer? and is your 2.8 weighted?

Fall, I think XD And no, it’s a 2.8 uw, and like a 3.2 or 3.5 weighted. Not sure what my UCF GPA is though, like without all the ECs. It can only be higher though. My lowest grades were in things like law studies, photography, and gym. I did fail World History Sophomore year, but retook it with 2 Bs. I’m hoping they’ll overlook it because I got a 4 on the AP Test.

@ ari and mayday, when did you guys apply?

I applied October 31st. And that sucks Ari but the 3.2 or .5 sounds a lot better than the 2.8 .

Hmm, well my weighted is a 4.6 but when I recalculated my college gpa it was like a 3.7 I think, which is only a point higher than my regular gpa -__- so I’m not even sure is i calculated it correctly.

Yeah I was referring to Ari’s stats but yeah I didn’t calculate mine… its 5.3 weighted though.

Ughh I’m itching to get in !

I finally heard back and I was accepted!! this is what it said on the MyUCF

Congratulations! You have been offered admission to UCF for the Fall 2011 term. Your acceptance is contingent upon earning an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida public community college or earning 60 transferable semester hours of credit with at least a 2.5 gpa from the last institution attended, as well as overall, two college level courses in both math and english with a grade of ‘C’ or better in each and successful completion of two consecutive years of the same foreign language in high school or eight semester hours of the same foreign language in college.

I am a transfer from NY and I applied in August so I have been waiting forever! I applied for the Rosen College part of it.

Congrats Vimp!! I’m sooo freaking jealous. I can’t wait to hear backkkkkk. Every day makes me more and more anxious. I’m getting nervous on denial, and have been considering Neumont U in Utah as a back up O_o I’d never considered it before, but met a couple of graduates who raved about how great it is for people like us. They said it’d be about as rigorous as if I got in and took a double major at UCF, but I’d most likely get a better job coming out.

But geez, Utah -.-/

Oh, and I applied back in November.

I requested info from Neumont Online today, and got a call less than 3 minutes after I submitted my info request XD One advantage of a small place.

Arifriekinel- No joke, my worst grade last year was a B which was in ceramics… Oh and this year a D in gym. I’ve never EVER had a D in my whole life. I basically flipped out at the teacher because our gym teachers don’t even know our names, so it is basically impossible for us to receive a fair grade. Worst grades have only ever been in elective classes which makes me so thankful that UCF recalculates everyones GPA. Mine will definitely be higher.

Wow XD Yeah, grades were never exactly my top priority, hate to say it! I don’t feel they they in any way will help me in life, so just never cared. I just did what I wanted at my leisure, and got out of it what I put in, I spose XD It’s a good thing that I’ve got the memory of some sort of giant creature that might be associated with good memory, I can pop out a great paper in less than ten minutes, and I test incredibly.

All of my academics went well, not from hard work, but from natural talent XD Who knows where I could be if I’d applied myself. Probably still UCF. I’m all about being happy :D

Well getting good grades and such develops self discipline. Grades may not always reflect your intelligence or comprehension (although they should) , but they do however reflect your dedication to getting good grades and therefore what you want/need . In both school and work situations, you have to be able to understand what is asked of you and deliver it. That’s how you get places ya know ? If you don’t have self discipline, it can get no where… and fast. I used to be like that… I didn’t really care about grades and all but I shaped up. Speaking of that I’m actually putting off this paper lol. & I’m also the same way with writing them as you Ari. I’m a pretty good writer but I hardly ever take reasonable amounts of time on my papers… so they could be a lot better… but my teachers always love them so it’s hard to break the habit (:

XD Yeah, I spose. It’s just, when your Computer Billionaire heroes are both dropouts, along with your well-to-do parents who don’t have high school diplomas, and even a few millionaire mentos who tell you college is for a different kind of person, and all of your siblings, you start to feel that grades aren’t exactly the most important thing XD Much of my self-discipline comes in the form of not taking the easiest way, and making sure that I’m in a place that’s perfect for me. Ideally, I’ll own my own company so soon that it won’t be an issue :D

Well of course. Everyone is different. But I’m talking about the average person that is doing the whole college then career type deal. It’s different with the whole computer thing though. One of my friends is a USF dropout who is reallllyyy smart and now owns his own company (well this is his second I think) and he’s only 20 and makes gooood money. He’s doing computer programming and such so of course he charges a crap load an hour.Grades didn’t factor into his success, but for the type of people that are members of this board they do/will.

Ah… I don’t think they will for me XD I’m only a member of this board because I needed something to pass the time after UCF decided not to respond for like 3 months! D:

Lol same here but with less time, I just made an account cause I always read the forums here and thought I should maybe write something once in a while. Ahh, I wish UCF would just write back already!
