i got waitlisted here, and rejected from uva. right after i read these decisions, i found out my dad is getting preliminary tests for cancer. not such a great day but things will be better. thanks for showing you care about my application w&m, and i mean it. i’ll be going on the waitlist.

I’m not sure if this has already been addressed, but when will financial aid information be released?

what do you do if you no longer have access to the e-mail address?

Accepted! I still can’t believe it. I thought I’d be rejected for sure. The news is so much more meaningful when you’re expecting the worst! I feel tribal already!

Congratulations to all who have been admitted. For those who asked, financial aid information will be released by email some time this coming week assuming you have submitted all requested information to the Financial Aid Office.

tallman, if you no longer use the email you submitted in your Common App, please call us Monday and we will mail a hard copy of your decision to the address you supplied in the Common Application.

Woodward, glad to hear you have such great choices. We hope you consider W&M but certainly wish you well if you decide to go to Wake. All should keep in mind however that we knowingly admit far more students than we can enroll so one student deciding to go elsewhere does not mean we will activate the waitlist.

soychai, correct, we do not rank the waitlist. If we’re able to admit students from the waitlist we first determine where we feel short (in-state vs out-of-state for example) and then we look at all such applicants and decide who’s the most competitive. Final semester grades can be quite helpful so we encourage waitlisted students to finish strong and submit a final transcript ASAP.

when will transfer students pick their classes for the fall? is there usually openings in classes left for transfer students?

When will housing applications be released?

Wait, that’s in our admissions packet. Do we have to wait to send in our deposit to have access to our email and things? I activated my myWM account and changed my password, but now it won’t give me access to my email and things.

I realized my question doesn’t make a lot of sense. A better way to phrase it would be “Will I not have access to my email and things until after I submit my deposit?”

Also, thank you to WM admissions for making the packet so nice and personal!

I was admitted, too (thank God). You already got the packet? Where do you live? I’m down here in Texas.

And no, I don’t think you will have access to anything until you put down a deposit.

how did you activate your account? was the information on the email or in the packet?

I imagine that it was in the admissions packet since it wasn’t in the email.

Yeah, it was in the admissions packet. I live very close to W&M, so it didn’t take long to mail. But if you haven’t received it yet apparently they’ve been sent out so be looking for it. =)

Ah, great. I hope the aid is good. I’m out of state, though :.

Ill probably get mine on Monday. I live in MD so it’s not too far. I have a take home exam due next saturday, but hopefully I can turn it in early so that I can come to W&M for accepted students day

Sent from my DROID2 using CC App

So, pretty much being waitlisted is the same as being rejected, unless you can activate the waitlist? How many people usually get in off the waitlist? I know it depends on how many people go that were accepted, but generally how many make it off the waitlist? Is there any way to find out how many spots are available earlier than June 15 to maybe see what our chances are?

Ok, on the deposit website it says that the amount to pay is $350 for a transfer student with housing, and the amount without housing for a transfer student is $150. On the form you submit to W&M to accept your spot, it only tells you to pay 150, 350 is not mentioned. I just want to make sure I’m not overpaying for no reason. I want to submit the deposit online and I intend to apply for housing

I paid the $350 since I saw it included housing. I wonder if we are unable to get housing does this mean that $250 will be refunded? Do we get put on the housing list automatically if we pay the $350?

I should read more carefully before running to the forums. On the thing you mail to W&M (which you have to mail regardless of if you pay online), full time student (I assume)=transfer w/o housing and costs 150. The other option is 350. In the acceptance letter itself it only mentions the 150 which is why I was confused.

I’m just so worried about messing things up that it’s making me paranoid =)

Woops I meant $200 refund not $250. I do not really even care about refund actually, I am just stoked to have been accepted. I hope I can get the classes I want. A lot of courses are full from what I saw, so I guess I will be doing a lot of begging this summer lolz.

Can’t wait for transfer day!
