They aren’t really “crappy” there just mostly 200-300 level and higher. I had hoped to take lvl 100s so that I could get a feel of things first. Oh well, no worries :)

Of course they are not crappy. The term “crappy” was just an exaggeration of not being able to find suitable open courses. Anyway, I am sure this wouldn’t be the case in the next quarter.

Sorry *they’re

…it’s been a long day lol

CGJ2012: At UW, some depts don’t have “100 level classes” & their 200= 100

For example, the com department doesn’t have any 100 level classes. I’ve taken com 201 and com 202 at UW. These classes were equal to any 100 level classes I’ve ever taken.

Soo I have two questions about orientation and class registration.

At orientation, will the advisers let you in classes that are already full as long as it’s your major dept?

If they won’t, should I even bother making a class schedule (and backups) since classes that I wanna take are closed anyway?

travelgirl: Oh thanks, good to know. I’m in all 200’s. I took an Art History + English combo, have you done any of those? What did you think of it?

schan: My adviser offered to get me into a full class that is required for acceptance to my program. However, I decided against it because it’s a class that cannot be retaken and I don’t want to blow it. I think bringing a list of classes you would take would be most helpful, rather than a set schedule. A long list, not just an ideal one, and make sure you look at requirements and prereq’s before you add it to the list.

@sgcore:

I tried calling the Immunization requirement line and I got sent to voicemail ): I left a message with my number though. Did you talk to an immunization nurse or was no one at the phone when I called?

I called the measles department. It was around 5 pm.
Hope they get it done before your orientation date!

Can somebody give me some information? I thought you can’t transfer for winter quarter because it isn’t open to general admissions?

Winter is open for freshmen and transfer admissions(but not international or postbaccalaureate). Spring is closed to general admissions.

If you are looking at it on the UW website, it will currently say “closed” because the application period for Winter is in August.

Have all newly accepted transfer students registered for next quarter?

Hey Larryman30, I was looking through this thread to get some perspective and it seems that your situation back in 2011 is closest to mine now. I was wondering if you would suggest that I apply or not. I am applying for Winter 2014. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.79
Credits: 45
Age: 19
Major: Psychology
Residency: In-State

The reason I ask is because I noticed that you applied with around the same amount of credits as I am about to apply with. I was wondering if these decisions are final and if I can try to transfer again for Fall 2014.
