Communications :)

I’m on the 9th too! Anyone know how long the immunization records take to process?

It should take 1-2 days at most.

To set correct expectations:
It can take up to two weeks (officially)
Last winter, for me it took one week
The length of time it takes is dependent on how busy/staffed they are. not busy at all = very quick, very busy = two weeks.

I would recommend handing it in person to hall health if you are worried/concerned

@schan -

That’s really cool! :)

Yes, I did graduate from high school here. I also did Running Start in my senior year.

& sorry for answering so late… blame it on Finals lol

I’m gonna go to the Advising session on Dec. 7th! Good luck everyone with getting into classes!

Didnt get in. My advisor at EWU didn’t help me and didnt tell me what I needed, I will have to reapply with major declared.

If you want to get in you will need to transfer to a community college

Has anyone with a job decided what classes to take? I mean with a limited amount of classes left for the winter I am curious how people make their schedules that work w their jobs

I don’t think you need to be at a CC to get in. I’m a transfer from Western with 42 credits. Just get good grades and you will have a chance. I never spoke with an advisor once. Just do some research, work hard, and keep trying. Obviously 4 year transfers have a chance.

To others that submitted their immunization stuff in person at hall health,

Did you receive any confirmation through email or does it just show up on the MyUW front page as submitted?

Also… When I went in, the woman at the front desk didn’t even ask for my ID and just said she’d turn it in for me (What I submitted was the form we were supposed to email and a copy of my immunizations) Is that how it worked for you guys too?!

Cool, registered for the 12th now! Still waiting on that measles confirmation…

Hopefully it’ll process in time for the orientation date…

do you guys all have the right class standing?

Looks correct to me!

Has your measles confirmation shown up on your MyUW front page yet? Mine is still not received and I turned it in at Hall Health in person on Friday last week!

What to bring to orientation… do you really need a back pack?

you don’t need it, but they are going to hand out a folder with a bunch of flyers, a pen, a calender/datebook etc. It’d be easier to stuff it in a bag for 8 hours vs carrying it around

To those who are attending the orientation today, please update. What was the orientation all about? Were you guys able to register for your desired classes, wait-listed, or denied? Do you have any advice for those who are attending the orientation on later dates? Thanks!

OhPleaseOhPlease: try calling the measles department as they are very helpful. I submitted my measles form through email and two days later I called to check why it’s not through the system yet. The nice lady pulled out my email (while I was on the phone) and 5 minutes later it showed up on MyUW page. I received the confirmation email at the same.

Orientation:

I was not able to register for the classes I wanted. I was able to register for classes that would count to my degree.
Wear walking shoes
Bring a small comfortable bag to carry your agenda folder and other items in
Bring an ID

oh wow! That means we are gonna be stuck with crappy classes. noooo! The last thing I wanna do is to bring my GPA down in my first quarter (now how bad would that look).

Crappy classes != low GPA. (Crappy prof or lecturer is another issue) It’s only one quarter. Since you guys are transfer students, you’ll have relatively higher class standing when getting Spring classes. Yeah, it sucks, but it’ll be okay. You can also try to overload classes or watch the time schedule for people who drop classes after the first day. I notice that it’s kind of common practice for people to hoard an extra class, attend all of them, then drop the one they don’t want during the first days of the quarter.
