@UWhopeful199 are you transferring from a community college, or 4 year university?
@redo123 In-state community college
@UWhopeful199 That’s good, considering that in state community college applicants are given priority. Best of luck to you!
I recently changed one of my classes. Do you think that will affect me because I changed one of the classes that I put on my application that I would be taking this fall at my CC? For me, classes haven’t even started yet too. I just emailed UW admissions to tell them about the change.
@Aharris1105 I did the same thing. I don’t think that it would make a difference, as long as the class you changed was not out of a class that was a pre-requisite for your intended major.
I listed my intended major as LSJ, but none of the pre-requisites for that major are offered at my CC (BC). Do you think this will affect my admissions decision?
@Aharris1105 No, it won’t affect you. I know a lot of people who did the same, they all got accepted to UW Seattle.
Your stats are almost exactly like mine and I got in last Winter. Same cum GPA, did really good in the end, and wrote a great personal statement.
Do you have a better chance of getting into UW if you’re coming from Bellevue College?
I have 125 credits and a 3.0 GPA. I did running start and got “bad” grades in some pretty general courses when I was having health problems. I got B’s or higher in all my business core classes. I also got an A in statistics. Also, I plan on being an economics major. Is the economic department easier to get into than Foster? I know my GPA is low, but do you think I at least have a shot? I’m super anxious to hear back!
Also, can you join sororities winter quarter?
@hah98 I don’t think coming from BC gives you a higher chance as opposed to any other in state community college, but about 85% of accepted transfers come from in state community colleges.
@redo123 I told admissions about the change and they fixed it for me on my application
I also applied for winter quarter. I am graduated from high school this year but I did running start for two years so I am going to transfer with my AA degree but I don’t know what my chances are?
@xxhehexx I’m not sure if this will help but here is an older forum post about running start and UW chances
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/1144384-running-start-will-it-up-my-chances-of-getting-in.html
it’s not about running start… I am transferring with my AA but I chose pre major with interest in Nursing because I am close to finishing my prerequisites. I don’t know if they accept pre major transfer students?
@xxhehexx have you checked the UW’s website? Or you could email admissions they are pretty good at responding fast. I found this on their website talking about who the UW considers to be a pre major student
http://fyp.washington.edu/connect-through-academics/transfer-student-resources/new/pre-major-admissions/
But honestly asking admissions would probably be best
Hey!!
I’ve been creeping on the site and thread for a while now and finally decided to join! I’ve been going pretty strong on not thinking about admission results but it’s all that’s been on my mind all week lol
According to previous threads we might start hearing back in 2 weeks! YIKES!
(I’m an instate CC transfer with over 90 credits.)
@redo123 I’m also an intended LSJ major!! Glad to know there’s someone who’s in the same boat as me. Good luck to you!!
Does anyone think the chances of transferring to the UW is slimmer for Winter quarter than Autumn?
I’ve heard a few people say it’s easier to get in winter quarter because not many people apply but I’m not sure I feel like it’s just a rumor…
@bornahusky Good luck to you as well! I’ve also heard some rumors about it being easier to get into UW during the winter quarter, but I’m not sure if it’s true either.
@bornahusky That would be nice if it was true.
