Hey everyone! I’ve been lurking on this thread for a long time but I never posted. Just got my acceptance letter!

54 credits with a 3.70 GPA. Strong essay. I’m a transfer from an out-of-state four-year university but a WA resident. I also had some financial need to move back to Washington which I mentioned in my essay.

Good luck to everyone who hasn’t gotten their letter yet!

Hello all,

Accepted to Foster undergrad accounting track. Transfer from North Seattle Community College (STRONGLY RECOMMEND) with an Associate’s in Business DTA / MRP. I’m a Navy veteran, minority, and think I had a fairly strong essay. For those of you who had a less than stellar first go round in college, (like I did) don’t get down on yourself and just focus on showing that upward trendline. Stats are: Average for Applicants, Admitted, and my Scores, respectively

Combined GPA 3.46 3.67 3.66
Pre-application GPA 3.54 3.76 4.0
WSA Score 3.87 4.49 5.25

Congratulations to everyone hearing back! Finally!!! I am still waiting… maybe my rejection letter is in the mail? Do rejections also show up through myUW?

SO, i was admitted on the 23rd of nov, but still havent received hard mail…? Is this normal? because i live in washington state around tacoma, and i dont know why its taking them so long to send out mails?..

I guess it’s another long weekend for me. Anyone out there WA cc transfer still not heard anything??

I did not apply for the Winter Transfer, but I am replying to this thread because I have seen a lot of the same repeated questions over and over again. If you live in Washington, if your transcript loaded, and you have still not yet received your acceptance or rejection letter DO NOT worry. UW does not send out letters at once, they send them out in waves. I know it’s taking long but if you get accepted you won’t even remember how long it took, you’ll be too excited to think about that. Also, UW is a very very popular school with 40,000 students. The admissions office is constantly working considering they also have just closed the application for the AUTUMN 2017 acceptances so they’re pretty busy. Wait patiently. UW does not send out letter based off your state, so even if you live in Washington you might not receive your letter until the very last second, they send them out in waves.

Good luck to everyone.

@prayersforUW The recent closing of Fall 2017 applications is honestly not a good enough reason for there to be such a delay for WINTER 2017 applications that closed September 2016, considering these people are potentially going to UW in a MONTH and need to plan accordingly whilst Fall students have basically 5 months to plan.

@prayersforUW Yes, very true. I’m sure the admissions office is slammed! I guess I’m asking all the questions because I feel like I’m the last person to receive a decision. My transcript did not load, nor did I get a letter. Trying to be patient

@Ruberi yes, I understand the closing of Fall 2017 applications is not a MAJOR reason for there to be such a delay, but it is a minor reason. They also have to worry about the current students at UW (40,000 of them) and worry about them as well. Remember there is only about 20 admissions faculty listed on the UW website.

Just remember everyone, them taking a long time just shows that they are CAREFULLY making strong decisions about your application, which is good. I know its HORRIFIC waiting this long.

Congratulations everyone I hope to maybe meet some of you at orientation. I’ll be attending the one of the 16th.

@prayersforUW
oh, so you mean even i got accepted, and the transfer status changed to congratulations blah blah blah and loaded my transcript, it can take long time till they actually send out hard mail?
I mean on the message, it said "
Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of Washington for winter quarter 2017. An official letter has been mailed to you." ??.. cause i am worried why it takes so long eventhough it says they been mailed .

Is anyone from the East Coast planning to drive out to Seattle? :-<

Travel arrangements are so expensive…

@hy0407 Yes because even though it says “An official letter has been mailed to you.” That might not mean that it actually has. That’s just the default message whenever a student is admitted, that’s what it says. It might not mean that it has been mailed out yet. If you already got accepted idk why you guys are stressed out about being admitted. If youre stressed because you dont know the instructions of what to do next then call the admissions office.

I still haven’t heard anything. Should I call the office?

So i just called the admissions office and they said that they are still making decisions! If you haven’t gotten an email or your account hasn’t changed (to either Congrats! or Sorry!) then they are likely still processing your application. She said it could be until mid December.

the message on my “confirm your enrollment” thing changed from you have no offers of admissions to accept to “Your offer of admission can no longer be confirmed using this service” what does that even mean
