@panadaz, while we don’t expect students to be overwhelmingly involved in 9th and 10th, we do like to see some involvement during that time. If there were extenuating circumstances that prohibited that, let us know about them.

@alexking47, congrats on your admission! Generally, freshman seminars do not count towards our General Education Requirements (GERs). They do take care of your writing proficiency (in most cases) and they are required of all freshmen.

Never thought I would be accepted to W&M( it was a reach school), but I never imagined being accepted as a W&M Scholar! I very interested in the WMSURE program. How does it work? Will I be able to conduct my own original research in a subjects such as physics and engineering or will it be a research shadowing experience?

@MHChicken, way to go! That’s awesome! Check out the WMSURE page ([William & Mary - W&M Scholars Undergraduate Research Experience (WMSURE)](http://www.wm.edu/as/charlescenter/scholars/wmsure/?svr=web)) for contact information and more on what current WMSURE kids are doing on campus. Plus you’ll receive more information from the Director of the Program in a mailed letter soon.

How much can 1st semester senior grades impact one’s acceptance after being deffered from early decision?

@californiamusic, that really depends on your previous record. If your first semester grades are strong that of course can’t hurt and could help but could also be somewhat neutral if your grades have always been strong. If your first semester grades aren’t strong that of course won’t be a plus factor for you.

Hi, I was admitted ED, and will be a freshman next year. I’m interested in the Sharpe Scholars program, how can I apply?

@Plasticpens, more information about that will be mailed to all incoming students in late April/early May so just keep an eye out. That application process doesn’t begin until the entire class is in place.

Any word on a date yet since UVA just released their decisions? :D

Not yet @cedardog. We will let you know as soon as we know.

@W&M Admission : A little birdie told me that decisions were expected to be released via email tomorrow Monday, April 25, 2013. Can this be confirmed, or is it just another release-date rumor?

I think you mean March 25 :P

@MeganOwens, we have not set a release date yet nor have we revaled any insider info so to speak. Not sure what little birdie you’re referring to but we try very hard not to make any promises about a release date in case we can’t deliver on them therefore we don’t speculate on a release date until we hit the proverbial send button. We are working round the clock to get decisions out as soon as we can. Any day between now and April 1 is a possibility. It just depends on how quickly we can get through each remaining step in the process.

@W&M Admission,

William and Mary has been my dream school since before I can remember. Whatever the outcome of my application is, I just want to thank the entire admissions board for putting so much time and effort into choosing the class of 2017. As an applicant, it means a lot to see a school actually care about its students. Thank you, and I hope that the decisions are out soon!

@superjan8, thank you for the heartfelt thanks. We wish you all the best and look forward to being able to release decisions soon.

Will the “Decisions Decisions” post happen the same day the e-mail goes out, or will it simply say the day you will announce decisions?

@Cedardog, assuming all goes as planned, it will be published when decisions are released (so the same day).

W&M has released its decisions by email

@Dadtoson, beat us to the punch. Decisions are being emailed as we speak. It will take several hours for all 14,000+ to leave our server so please be patient but they are on their way. More information about the release of decisions and the decisions themselves can be found on our Decisions, Decisions blog series (blogs.wm.edu/author/admiss).

Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories with us. These past few months have been unbelievable. We are so excited for the Class of 2017 and are grateful to each and every applicant, regardless of decision, for trusting us with their application.

Waitlisted!

I am going to put myself on the list and hope for the best!

Is there anything I can do to increase my standing or is luck a primary factor?

Thank You for a second chance!

Rejected and absolutely crushed.
