Hi W&M Admission,

Thank you for your reply. It is really helpful.
I just have one more question for foreign language requirements.
If English is already my second language, do I still need to take another language for four years? ( I take Spanish I in my senior year, but just because I am interested. It will be my third language, but I only take it for one year.)

Thank you for taking so much time to answer the questions!

@postcardgirl, we certainly understand that ESL students might not take an additional foreign language in high school. That’s okay. However, you will have not satisfied W&M’s foreign language proficiency so if you enroll at W&M, you’ll either have to take an exam in your native language to test out of the profiency required or take four semesters of a foreign language.

Hi W&M Admissions. My senior year progress reports come out tomorrow, and my guidance counselor is sending them right away. Will they arrive in time to be part of my decision? Will I be able to confirm that my grades were received? Thanks!

Hi W&M Admissions,

Quick question on wording of admissions emails:

Do all emails confirming receipt of application indicate that it will take up to a month for the application to be completed? Even for ED applicants? Or does this wording indicate that the application might have somehow wound up in the RD pile since ED applications are likely prioritized and completed sooner than that?

Should this wording, just a month before ED Decisions, concern an ED applicant?

@WellHello, we send the same email to all students who apply, regardless of deadline. Generally we can process ED applicants faster since they do take priority but we don’t change the email for each individual applicant. Don’t worry, we will complete and review your ED application in a timely fashion. But since most students submits their materials right around the deadline, it can take us a little while to gather and file all of the appropriate materials.

Okay, so today is the deadline for ED and Spring Transfer applications. All materials must be submitted or postmarked by tonight.

Goodl luck!

That’s what I was hoping – Thanks!

OK
Thank you so much!
I still want to take the third language.
But I just want to make sure that I meet the basic requirements.

Thank you again for all your time~!!!

Early Decision committee deliberations have begun and the Class of 2017 is starting to take shape. Want to know what we discuss in Committee? Check out our Admit It! Blog for our “Overheard in Committee” series.

And share your thoughts with us by using the hashtag #wm2017.

So exciting but scary at the same time!! Will we likely hear back later than usual because of the hurricane delay?

Can’t answer that yet @soccersara. Just have to see how our process progresses.

Hi W&M Admission:
I found two email address on the website. admiss@wm.edu and. admission@wm.edu
Since I don’t know if they are the same, I sent an email to both.Is that okay? Thank you!

@Sherry Peng, it is. The two emails will go to the same in-box. Feel free to just use admission@wm.edu from now on.

I just realized I never thanked you for your response! Thank you! Sorry for the late reply!

@W&M Admission I sent an email five days ago and there is no reply. So may I ask will the admission office reply to every email? Because I am afraid that my email went wrong or something.Thank you so much I totally understand it is a heavy work!

@Sherrypeng, we respond to every email we get but if it didn’t go through or something we wouldn’t be able to respond. It’s also possible it was forwarded to one of our deans and they haven’t yet gotten a chance to respond. You can always call us to ask your question when we reopen after the holiday or post your question here.

Thank you so much!

Good Morning W&M- I was wondering if Admissions is going to post when Early Decision responses will be sent. There is a lot of “reading between the lines” and trying to figure out when decisions will be made. I am sure all of the prospective students would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

@PhDbeenthere, we will absolutely post that information once it’s available. Our Admit It! Blog has been full of similar questions. We just ask applicants to be patient. The process takes a lot of things all coming together at once to be able to release decisions so we usually only know the day of when that moment will be but we will keep people post on all social media and the blog.

Early Decision Notifications are being released this evening. When emails will land in your in-box depends on your individual server but you should have a decision waiting within the next few hours. Our latest Admit It! Blog ([W&M Blogs Decisions, Decisions — Early Decision 2012 Edition](http://blogs.wm.edu/2012/11/30/decisions-decisions-early-decision-2012-edition/)) has all the juicy details you’ve been waiting for.

We’re going to step away from social media for a few hours, let everyone receive their decision and digest the news and will be back online later on tonight to answer any pressing questions.

Thanks everyone for your patience.
