it’s pleasant to hear its decision this weekend. If accepted, I will be able to take burden off till the end of March. But I’m wondering why WUSTL hasn’t emailed about the decision date because usually universities email 4~5 days in advance to the release.

Wash U doesn’t send out emails before the release date.

oh, I didn’t know that WUSTL doesn’t send out emails prior to release date. I guess it will be a sudden and either very pleasant or catastrophic notification.

This whole thing is like INSANITY!!! I’m like 99.9999999% sure I got rejected, I just want to know for sure.

ZombieDante I’ve seen you around CC so many times, so it would be cool if you were my future classmate. :)

Unlikely considering I’m not gonna get in to Wash U…

Yeah I’m hoping for a rejection. Wait, I phrased that totally wrong…I’m expecting a rejection.

I don’t really want to go either. Not too keen on leaving to go to Missouri.

Just wondering, what are your SAT and GPA stats? I don’t think there is any overwhelming chance of rejection for WUSTL once you are academically competitive unlike some higher ranked schools such as HYPSM where luck plays the major (or possibly the most important) role in the admission.

Yeah tbh I hate schools who give no notice of their admissions date. It just seems inconsiderate to the applicant. I think I have a pretty good chance at wustl but I guess I’ll find out in two days.

My SAT is 2200. My GPA is what might get me rejected – 3.72. I’m not sure if its W or UW because my school only gives out one GPA.

I’ve had 3.9/4.0 junior and senior year, but I got 3.3/3.45 my freshman year which messed me up. :/

Have you guys visited the campus? St. Louis isn’t that bad, actually. The food there is spectacular. I’m not sure where I went, but I had an epic meal in STL. Sweet potato fries sprinkled with brown sugar, red velvet cake with white chocolate frosting…mmmm.

I also found this sorority I really liked at Wash U called Delta Gamma. I never thought I’d join a sorority but now I totally want to.

Aerobug your GPA is low for the top 15 schools I think. My school doesn’t calculate GPA so I’m not really certain about how universities would see your GPA. Your SAT seems very solid, though. With fine Common app essays, I think you can get a fair chance.

My essay is solid and explains my low GPA, as well as my counselor’s recommendation. I’ve also taken a ton of outside courses to make up for lost time. I really hope they see how hard I’ve worked to make up for my GPA. It’s a shame I couldn’t just get a freaking 4.0 freshman year.

@injustice – Schools were more likely to email in advance when they were mailing the results. An admissions officer (sorry I can’t remember the school) explained that when they mailed the letters, they needed several days to a week to prepare and mail them once they’d finished making their decisions. Now that they do it via email, they don’t have that lead time, so they just post the results when they’re available.

@Aerobug I had the same problem freshman year… ill have a 3.75 overall but a 4.0 the past two years in the most difficult schedule offered
i also have a 35 ACT but i dont know if that will make up for it…

jeez everyone I know around me as a ‘smart’ student had either both high GPA with high SAT/ACT or high GPA and low SAT/ACT. I hardly ever saw people with high SAT/ACT but low GPA. There were bunch of straight As students but there were only 3~4 2000+SAT students , including me. It’s weird to meet the very opposite in CC lol

Yeah I was at 3.92 for practically all of high school until second semester junior year. Last time I checked it was at 3.88 but could go down even more the semester.

@ injustice, yeah, where I went to school, getting true “straight A’s” was almost unheard of (only 4 or 5 out of 120ish kids graduated with a 4.0 or better), but 30+ ACTs and 2000+ SATs were the norm. Just goes to show why we have the standardized testing system at all; not all schools are created equally.

That’s true. Schools are soooo unequal. But in a way the standardized tests are written for a certain type of student too…oh well.

HEY! Everyone! Let’s stop with the stat comparing. We are all stressed out enough as it is, we don’t want to add more to it. Let’s focus on something positive…like ITS ALMOST THE WEEKEND :D

anybody watch a good movie recently? (:

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK!! gotta love Jennifer Lawrence I’m so happy she got an Oscar!
