That is uber cool. So do they work as counselors then? I would love to have the same experience because that just sounds really amazing.

They are counselors to the fr in the sense of helping them get used to college life, explaining the resources available to them, being someone to talk to, dealing with disciplinary issues, etc. Frocos work closely with other frocos and with the Master and Dean of their college.

Very cool. I’d love to do that. By the way, do transfers also a program like FOOT that gets them adjusted to Yale?

I would honestly love being a freshman counselor because I love talking to people and helping them as much as I can in general. I’m going to definitely apply for this opportunity once I get accepted.

Transfers can attend FOCUS, it’s a week long program before school starts in the fall. It’s for soph and transfers and aims at getting students better acquainted with NH in general, and in particular with volunteer opportunities; all participants help with a volunteer project of some kind. There is a very small fee for the program, about $100 as I recall. D1 did it when she transferred and then was a FOCUS counselor last year. When she participated, she helped in painting a church, the year she was a counselor they worked in a clinic for people who are HIV positive.

To entomom: Thank you so much for sharing your D’s experience. It just gets me more excited about all these possible activities for me to engage in @ Yale.

My goodness, I am so nervous. I don’t think I can wait till May 13th! Uggh.

Same here… May 13th is D-day for me… Honors Orgo final and Yale decision! I think all this wait is making me lose my mind.

You’re welcome quant!

I know the waiting is hard, hang in there and best of luck to everybody!

Is May 13th a definite? Or are we just estimating?

There seems to be a pattern from previous years that accepted students hear on 5/13 so I guess we’re just relying on that.

Yup all accepted heard back early informally all before or during the second week of may and later snail mail went out to everyone a week or so later

May 13th, the day our lives will forever be altered.

Yay, this thread is definitely rolling now
