u r right burghdad. National exposure changes everything. Ask UNC Chapel hill and Duke. I have seen documentation that Duke has over 40,000 this year for 3,200 slots. The average student is applying to many colleges now because of common and coalition app. I know I did.
@astnvila We are also undeclared and haven’t heard. S18 applied right before the deadline though. Others with lower stats in my town have already been accepted but I guess it’s because they applied earlier. Oh well.
Thanks Jersey Pops- Ours was lost in mail as well. We contacted and they are resending. (Jersey too)
@ScienceMum we are from NJ too. Would you mind telling my your child’s major/stats. Thanks!
Has anyone from NH heard yet? I am from NH and applied for genetics in late Sept with no answer.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not they think I’ll get in.
I applied on Oct 2, got the confirmation email Oct 23.

@bsl459 my son applied August 1 also from NJ with very simliar stats. Instead of ACT he took SAT and got a 1420. I called admissions Dec. 20th and they said they havent even looked at NJ, VA and MA they are so behind with. They said hopefully we should hear after their break which ended yesterday. I think you are a great candidate for admission.
We are in VA and my daughter got her acceptance a few weeks ago…
congrats @VAmomof4
My son’s acceptance came today in NJ.
@mweb136 Congratulations to your son. I know you guys have been waiting patiently…well maybe not so patiently… but I so glad it ended well for him.
@mweb136 That’s awesome. So happy for your whole family especially your son!
@burghdad and @TexasStudent2018 thank you so much!
@mweb136 - The admissions rep you spoke with is wrong - or at least in MA case - my son’s friend heard in the middle of Dec (I think the 20th) that she got into Clemson - my son still has yet to hear. I don’t think they do it state by state based on that??? Confusing
Still nothing here. Ugh.
@momoffourkids it was the majority from those states not every applicant. Higher stats from certain majors were notifed first.
It’s just funny because this is supposed to be a safety school for him. All the scattergrams say he’ll definitely get in. But he sent it in 11/30 and got confirmation 12/6 so they apparently just haven’t had time to look at him yet. Lots of kids with lower stats are already in. My kid is losing interest. He hears from NCSU and UNC in the next couple of weeks and that’ll be the determining factor for him.
@chb088 I totally understand! My son applied August 1st with very good stats like your son and just got accepted yesterady. We were assured though it was the sheer volume of applications from our area. I am sure that is the case for you as well!
@mweb136 - ok that makes sense. My son applied Nursing which is typically becoming the hardest school at a university to get into (rates between 5-15% at the mid level schools he is applying to!). His friend was a enviro. sci major or something similar with good OOS stats.
my daughter just received her acceptance letter and email today! NY, 29 act, class doesn’t rank!
